"Come on, Yumi! Ever since you took that job we never hang out like we used to."
"Ella, it's not my fault our schedules don't work out. Besides, I actually enjoy what I'm doing."
A classic set of friends getting on each other's case about not having time to spend with each other. Yumi knew someone would bring this up eventually, but she never expected it to happen so quickly. How long was it? Two weeks, maybe? Whatever the case, she had today off, but her friend had to work in an hour. Of course she decided to take an afternoon shift while Yumi was primarily evening. Why primarily? Well there were times when the man she was working under wanted her to come in at earlier times. After all, if she wanted to be a full-time Private Investigator, she needed to learn to take a call and respond to it quickly.
"Well, good for you. You know, not all of us are that lucky."
Yumi sighed. "Your tactic isn't going to work."
"Tactic? What tactic?" The trainee's eyes narrowed. "... Fine. Anyway, I need to head home and get ready. Hey, when's your next day off?"
"Five days, but I don't know if I'll get a call."
"I'm off then! In that case, we'll make plans ahead of time!"
Her friend's smile was hard to say no to. Besides, Yumi did want to spend time with others. It may have only been two weeks, but she felt like she was isolating herself in a way. Out of all things, that was one she absolutely did not want to do.
"Okay. Give me a call tonight?"
"You bet!"
Her friend waved as she ran off, leaving the young woman alone amongst the city streets. Yumi knew the area, though, rest assured. After all, she grew up here, and having someone teach her the ins and outs of certain places was just an added bonus. Whatever the case, she was left alone with nothing really to do. What lazy thing could a human do in the afternoon here in Abel City? Watching all the other people, human and reploid alike, many of them seemed to have some sort of destination in mind.
'I'll just be random for once,' was her thought as Yumi started walking. Who knows? Maybe something could catch her eye.

Another incredibly boring day for the bio-roid-in-disguise. Well, could she really say her disguise was a true mask? To all, she didn't appear any different than a typical female reploid. Perhaps that's why she's been able to keep her hood down a lot lately. All but one in the war that saw her face and knew what she truly was were personally killed by her own hands. So if anything, the cloak she always wears over her body is...sort of redundant. But it does help keep thugs off of her, as she grew quite tired of wasting the desperate fools in the streets wherever she went.
Seeing that every time she wanders, she doesn't really have much to do. Most of the time she'd just observe the daily activities of humans and reploids, just like she was doing now as the emotionless bio-roid was sitting down on a structure with her back resting on a wall while watching two humans seemingly having a brief argument with each other before it ended. The human that remained in the area was especially close to the area she was hanging out. It had been a while since Serenade actually watched a human carefully, for most of the time, they were all the same and were quite uninteresting to watch. But what else was there to do? Her masters seem to be so absorbed into their meetings on their next tactics that it pretty much leaves soldiers and tools like herself with nothing of value to do on off-time.
...But perhaps the current uprising of a certain faction within theirs may prove to be interesting.

Yumi had a lot of ideas going through her mind. She could visit a cafe, walk around a park, or even catch a movie. She had the extra money, so why not? Although, it all didn't seem enticing enough. In fact, this was definitely one of those times when she wished she had a little extra time to spend with her friends. If they were with her then going anywhere would seem fine.
But as she passed a cloaked reploid, something caught her attention. In the glimpse she saw of the face it was... emotionless. In fact, it was enough to send a shiver down the girl's spine. This was one of those time where Yumi wished she didn't have that sharp, analytic sense of hers. If she wasn't braced for it, certain things gave her the creeps. However, she didn't stop outright. The PI-in-training kept walking, though slowed her pace with each step. But did she dare turn around?
Yes, she did. A reploid without a sense of emotion? She didn't remember reading about that. Her curiosity getting the better of her, Yumi turned and walked up to the roid in question. "Excuse me..."

At first, Serenade was unresponsive towards the human's call as she was still deep within thought. Recalling memories could sometimes do that to her, keeping her frozen in place for a couple of seconds before she realizes it and end up snapping herself out of the trance. Doing just that, she blinked once before moving her head an inch to the side while staring at the human girl from the corner of her eye. It was the same one from a few moments ago talking with the other that disappeared. What did a human want with her? Was she suspicious of the apparent "reploid" she saw in front of her? All she could do is wonder, as the young woman didn't appear to be a Maverick Hunter or anything of the sort.
She wouldn't be able to find out from just staring at her though. If she was a hunter suspicious of her and may engage in trying apprehend, then the bio-roid would have to terminate her immediately. As such, Serenade set her sights 100% on the girl as she locked eye contact with her. "...Speak." It was all that escaped her lips, as her voice possessed no kind of emotion behind it.
