The rules are just like any other forum out there, so nothing new. But for the sake of this site, please read them anyway.

In-Character RP Rules:
In-depth Roleplaying Guidelines
See? Simple. Just follow those little rules and you're all set. Have fun and don't forget to look at all the other important topics in this forum!
Forum Rules:
- Be polite and respectful to other members. Don't be a jerk just for the sake of it. You'll only be treated in the same manner and end up having warnings. Do not discriminate against other members for their race, age, religious views, etc. Treat others the way you'd want to be treated. If you want to be treated badly, then this isn't the place for you.
- Follow the appropriate rules on signatures. The area where you place text or images may not exceed 500 x 300 pixels. Also, do not place advertisements in your signature. There is an advertisement section for a reason.
- Keep all content and language/discussions within PG-13. Anything over that goes against Proboard's ToS. Please use common sense here, as I mean EVERYTHING that's over PG-13. Mild offenses will result in warnings while more serious offenses (such as linking to sexual content) will result in a permanent ban. If you really want to do that stuff, then take it somewhere else.
- Necroposting rules are quite lenient here. There's perfectly nothing wrong with resurrecting an old topic...as long as that reason for bring it back isn't something completely stupid, such as what you post has absolutely nothing to do about that topic. Again, use common sense here and handle this rule well. EX: Don't just find an old topic and say something like "lol" or anything else not significantly adding to the topic.
- As always, keep one account per RP character you have. That account is exclusive to that character only, but it's still you in the end. Also, do not make another account if your character limit is reached (Refer to RP rules for more in-depth information). In most cases, people would make another account to make it seem like it's not them so they can have more characters. Please don't be stupid and do this, as I (and anyone else I'd make an admin) can see your IP address and instantly know it's you. If a family member or friend lives under the same roof as you, that's the only exception for two members having the same address.
In-Character RP Rules:
- No godmodding. All of this stuff should be ingrained in your mind if you've role played before. Don't make it seem like your character is unbeatable, regardless if your character is stronger than your opponent. Remember how X was literally out matched in power compared to Sigma, yet he and Zero defeated the tyrant all the time? Just because you're strong doesn't mean you're invincible. Don't even do this if fighting against swarms of NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) either. I don't care if your character is superman, he/she can't take on a massive army alone without breaking a sweat. Do NOT under ANY circumstance create a character in the image of someone who can't be defeated by one person alone. This refers to PvP battles. No matter how strong your character starts off or grows, they can still be defeated by a PC weaker than they are, or of a naturally weaker species. And just because they're strong, it doesn't mean they require a whole team of other PCs to defeat them. This is godmodding in it's purest form. If you want some super tank boss that requires a lot of people to defeat, that's what Boss Characters in arcs are for. This is a strict rule that must be abided. If broken (AKA stating a character's that strong way later after approval process), certain punishments and restrictions will be in place, as well as extended moderation monitoring of your character.
- Don't powerplay. This means that you should only control your OWN character's attacks, movements, reactions, etc. Don't control another player's character without their consent. Don't even talk for their character. Speak your own character's words and feelings (and NPCs you are controlling). Don't force your character to land a hit on another's character. It's completely up to them how they'll react to the attack, but this is where both players need to be fair. Your character can't dodge everything and they certainly can be damaged whether you like it or not. Also, don't use your character's battle experience as an excuse to win battles with ease. Just makes you look bad.
- No metagaming. Just because YOU know what's going to happen doesn't mean your character knows what's going on. There could be a stealth Reploid sneaking around in a factory and your character may be on patrol or something. Just because YOU know that the Reploid is there doesn't mean your character can just open fire on him. Use common sense and play realistically like you are in your own character's shoes, looking through their own eyes and abilities.
- Don't enter a RP thread just for the sake of it. Make sure your character has a reason to be there. If a thread is marked (Open), that means it's free without any kind of approval from the RP starter, but still make your entrance more realistic than "Poof! I'm here and ready to kick ass!"
- "Oh, Magnus! You just said ass! That's swearing, dood!" Yeah, but that's perfectly acceptable in and out of character. Just don't have your character throwing the F bomb or stuff like that. Unless it's intended for comedic purposes, those words (you all know what I'm talking about) are more vulgar than most.
- IMPORTANT: This RP is a more open; fluid. It is possible for your character to be in more than one thread, as this will help with a number of things such as post count and such. Reaching 800 posts in RPing alone will take quite a LONG time in most cases, even if someone tries to abuse one-liners. But that's what I'm here for. Make sure to be descriptive (as one of the guidelines below states more clearly on this and one-liners) and do not abuse one-liners. While they are not forbidden, it's generally not fun to have a response to 1-3 lines. Not even a full paragraph. Avoid them if necessary and at least place some minimum effort into your posts...say about 2-3 paragraphs looks good if you can't think of a longer post. They don't even have to be lengthy paragraphs. Even while in a solo thread, make your posts at least a little interesting to read. Also, don't be ashamed if you have to post a 2-3 paragraph post just because I say this. Sometimes, there just isn't enough going on in the thread to say about a certain situation.
Also, keep in mind that it's your responsibility to keep track of your character's progress. Don't join a crapload of threads and know you can't handle it or do not know which thread you joined first. If you can't handle a lot, just stick to either one or two. Possibly three. Also, try not to make it a habit of joining a bunch of threads just because you can. Not only will it leave you a load of work to do, but you may even lose your character in the sea of posts! So please, just play smartly. - Lastly, the character limit for now is 5. That's how many Proboard accounts you can have linked to one master account. This limit CAN be exceeded if you want to have a Boss character for a Major Arc you have planned. Refer to the Boss Character topic for more information.
In-depth Roleplaying Guidelines
- Maintain a healthy flow of combat. Be respectful to your opponents in PvP battles. Make sure you play fairly and use logic. If your character happens to be damaged slightly or a little moderately, then it's obvious that they can still put up a good fight and possibly take a win. But if your character is all banged up and gravely wounded compared to your opponent who might be all fine and dandy, then it isn't very logical to pull off an attack that you know your character is currently too weak to pull off. Strategize if you want a chance at winning a losing battle. This goes for the opposite side as well. Don't underestimate an opponent that's badly wounded and think your character successfully caught the win. The world doesn't work like that. While we are on the subject, don't control the reactions or damages your opponent may take. If they dodge an attack you hoped your character landed, then tough. Life is always full of surprises.
- Your character can die! All I'm saying here is use common sense while playing. Battles are serious business and if you aren't careful, a big mistake on your part can cost your character's life. You could say "yeah, he can just be rebuilt 'cause he's a Reploid!" but what if your opponent aims FOR your character's head? That's where the brain chip is for Reploid/Bio-roid characters and without that, they're toasted. While it is possible to turn a losing battle around into your favor, don't rely on it a lot if your character is severely outmatched and also battered and injured in the process. If you KNOW your character is going to lose and the fight they're in is kill or be killed, then be smart and work for what benefits your character the most: keeping them alive. You could say it's cowardly to run, but will you be saying that when your character that you've placed so much love and hard work into vanish before your very eyes? Just play smartly and you don't even have to worry about your characters dying at all.
- Be descriptive. It's important to get the right idea across to the other players, especially in the details to avoid confusion. For example, "(Insert character name here) killed the enemy" is too vague. A more proper narrative would be: "(Insert name here) runs forth, running her beam sabre through the rogue Maverick's chest in a quick motion."
- Do not post in script or chatroom format. Narrate the actions of your characters instead. A narrative is more appropriate since it better conveys the details of a scene, even in the shortest posts, adding depth to the role-play. A chatroom requires you to reply quickly, but you can afford to think your posts more thoroughly in a forum, so put more effort into it.
- Pay attention while attempting to join threads. You can't just jump into a thread aimlessly, regardless if it's open to all or require the RP starter's permission. You have to know what's going on in the thread, so take the time to read though it...even if it's 10+ pages long. You don't want any trouble, do you? Also, try to pay attention to older threads. Sometimes, the RP starter won't officially say the RPing in that thread is done. Check the dates appropriately and ask one of the topic participants if it's still going on or not.
