The dead of night in Giga city always left people curious as to what went on behind the walls of the leading city in Force Metal mining and development. Some say it was just quiet, others say it's too quiet. So many rumors can spread in such a place, including ones regarding Maverick activity. Of course, there's no way anyone could send a full scale investigation without proper information. It would only create both confusion and panic to the populace if hunters just stormed a place based on rumors. There had to be a good explanation, and there is no better explanation than the truth.
This is were Ada comes in. She was issued a recon mission to gather intelligence on the rumors, alone. Again, no big force. This was something she alone had to do, and Adaline was more than ready to take responsibility. She had her full armor on, not looking too much different from a new generation reploid. Heck, it would take a second glance for once to tell the differences. But that's not what was important at this time.
The hunter took cover behind some cargo as two reploids passed her, using her scanner as she peeked around a corner to ID them. They were clear, though. Simple civilians. Still, the fact bothered her a bit. She was in the place for nearly an hour and there was no real lead to the rumors that were floating around. Granted, that would be a good thing if this was all a false alarm, but what if the rumors were true? She couldn't come back to HQ and find out later there was a Maverick rampaging around the city. She would have failed at her duty if that happened.
"No. I'll find them," she whispered while getting up and moving on. The worst case scenario would be if the Maverick became active all of a sudden. Hopefully she can find them before then.

Booooo, his break was up and looked like it was back to work...and two boring missions at that. As he sat down atop of a roof of a random building, Zargeth wanted to just sit there and chill out for the rest of the night. He thought that he'd get to place a plasma bullet through some mavericks...which technically is possible since the rumors and all. But he wanted some proof that they were here so he could have a little fun than just standing around and acting as a shadow to another who's primary mission was this one. Speaking of that hunter, there she was below passing by. From a distance, she appeared to be a reploid, but was told she was a cyborg. Must have been the armor.
"Hmmm...so this the rookie I've been hearing about. Doesn't look too scary, but people say the same thing about me!" He sighed a bit, knowing it was true. But that was the idea. To fool the opponent, you have to appear harmless...in his case, a total chump. Wait...he just called himself a chump.
"Zargeth, have you found Adaline?" A navigator's voice sounded in his ear.
"Yep."
"Good. Just keep your eyes peeled and provide back-up if she needs it. Also, don't forget about your own mission."
"Yep."
"When you see our little friend who has the stolen force metal research data, take it from him and bring him in as soon as Ada finishes her investigation."
"Yep."
"Are...are you even listening to me?" Her voice now seeming more irritated.
"Nope." He then silently giggled to himself. "Nah, just kiddin'! I gotcha. Over and out!"
"W-wai--"
After cutting the link, he crossed his arms as he sat back and was ready to "keep his eyes peeled. After all, in the end he does have to shoot someone tonight, so that'll at least be some fun.

There was little to no activity as Ada kept searching, finding nothing but shadows and silence. Part of her was ready to call the mission done and head back with an empty report, but then something dropped. She didn't see it, but she heard it from a warehouse up ahead. The place was supposed to be empty at this hour, so what would still be here? That is, if it wasn't just something off balance that finally decided to give way. But it sounded a tad too heavy for it to be just anything.
She opened the door to the place slowly, turning on her night optics to get a better look in the dark warehouse. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at first glance, but she went inside anyway, taking cover behind a crate. It seemed clear, so she started to take a step forward, but the something else fell and put her on high alert. Every angle possible she looked at, finding one thing out of place from the rest of the cargo. Ada silently moved to a better position, finding the side of a reploid that seemed to be holding something.
Scanner ready, she did a quick ID check and found something interesting. {Reported three times for suspicious activity.} Now she may be on to something at long last. Keeping silent, she let the reploid think it was alone before darting through a side door, though she followed close behind. If that reploid had anything to do with the rumors, his destination may shed some light on the situation.

When the hunter went inside the warehouse, Zargeth simply leaped down from the building himself while also being on the lookout for his little thief friend. He already knew what the roid looked like since he...sorta passed by the thief when he was running away from the people he stole from. But he wanted a little fun on this hunt and he heard reports that the sneaky little devil was in this general area somewhere. As such, he slowly followed the path Adaline took since he also had to shadow her. He kept wonder why they did let someone else do this...but that was just the lofty reploid being his usual lazy self.
To avoid detection and to not get in the rookie's way, Zargeth once again chilled on the exterior of the warehouse until something went amiss, as it seemed like she was on to something. If she came out empty handed, then he was just going to make his presence known. He never did like sneaking around.

Adaline was hot on the reploid's tail. He seemed to be heading in a certain direction, something Ada took note of as she kept shadowing the suspect. Question is, out of that general area, where was the specific location. If she could just follow him a little farther then everything should start coming together. Just a little longer and--
"Freeze! Stop where you are!"
What?! The local authorities? Why were they here? Regardless, the reploid panicked for a moment before throwing his hands up in the air and dropping his cargo. Falling out was, as Ada suspected, Force Metal. They arrested him on the spot, taking the evidence with them as Ada watched from the dark her only lead being dragged away. Once it was clear, she stepped out, her hands in fists and shaking with a monstrous scowl on her face.
"Damn it!" Ada twirled around and kicked a metal crate, actually making a dent in the thing. 'That was my best shot, too...' She didn't have the authority to walk into the police station and demand to see him. It wasn't in her job description. Sure, she could take command if something was happening on the streets, but not in a situation like this. All she could do was look at the direction the reploid was heading and try to deduce where he was possibly going.
"But with the delivery boy being caught, how long until they move out? I may not have enough time to search the place..."

"...Yo! Quite the temper you've got there, kid! I feel bad for the crates." The lofty hunter finally stepped out from the shadows as he spoke nonchalantly and maintained his usual carefree smile. It was about time he revealed himself, for keeping low in the shadows was just something he did not like to do. He watched as the local authorities took away the reploid she was tailing earlier and gazed back into the warehouse where the whole thing had just happened.
Leaning on a nearby wall despite the young woman's possible reaction, he was wondering what to do next. Just stay here or go back in the dark.....all right, that sounded weird. "You should try to unwind and relax a bit. A mission like this quite boring and such." He closed his eyes and smirked on his horrible attempt in "helping out", which he doubt he was. His laid back demeanor was never taken seriously after all...not like it's intended to be anyway. He didn't really care if people listened to him or not.

Ada whirled around again to see her unexpected visitor. A reploid, and not to mention a obnoxious one at that. Feeling bad for the crates? Needing to unwind? Quiet boring? "Hey, I don't need some random reploid coming in and telling me how--" It clicked after a second. He said 'a mission like this'. Did that mean...?
"How did you know I was on a mission? Did HQ tell you to babysit me?!" Turning around, the cyborg threw her hands in the air and yelled to the night sky. "You've gotta be kidding! They said I would do this alone! And here I thought they actually started to trust me! I'm not just some kid!" Ada threw her arm into the same crate she kicked, leaving yet another dent in the thing. Hey, it's not like she was going to pay for it.
Still, after a moment she just sunk to her knees then fell back, looking to the sky. In fact... she looked rather tired. "It's just cause I'm one of those fragile cyborgs, isn't it? I never get to prove I can handle myself in an actual confrontation..."

Not exactly expecting another outburst of emotions, Zargeth just froze in the same position while staring at the young hunter as she got all fired up. His expression wasn't exactly "surprised", though he was left a tad wide-eyed for a few seconds before letting out a combination of a silent laughter and sigh. He had already forgotten how some hunters like her took independence very seriously to the point where it reigned on borderline extreme. But what she said actually got him thinking a bit. It wasn't the fact that she was fragile unlike a reploid, but it was just that HQ still viewed cyborgs as "human"...and the fact that their risking their lives in jobs reploids were originally suited for technically goes against the first laws of robotics. If it weren't the severity of the Bio-roid war, humans within their ranks would have still ceased to exist.
This one sure did have a hot temper though. Since he wasn't really looking forward to seeing her flip out again, he stuffed his hands into his pocket as he walked closer to her, but had his back turned. "Relax. I'll be frank. They did send me to keep an eye on you, but only as a side thing. I've got my own mission to do...even though I honestly don't give a damn about either of these missions. But I didn't tell you to relax and unwind earlier just to greet you. If you waste your energy getting worked up, you won't be able to carry out your job efficiently...right?" He let out another sigh, completely having a distaste of going through "serious" talk. "Know this though. The higher ups aren't treating you like a kid because you're human. All of us C ranks have to deal with having someone supervise us everyone...or getting teamed up. Very seldom do we actually go on missions alone, despite the fact that were are on professional level. Only B rank and higher have the freedom they want. Sucks, I know. I can't wait until I'm free myself...but I'm crazy, so I can see why they want to put ME on a short leash!"
He couldn't really help but through a joke in there sooner or later. But he hoped that he at least made it apparent that what he said was out of trying to help her out and clear her head. Walking away from her just a tad, he still kept talking. "Like I said though. Just relax and cool down a bit. You'll work...and fight a lot easier without all that stress on your shoulders. I won't get in your way anymore than necessary, but when I do, know that it's just me carrying out orders. We soldiers gotta work together anyway for world peace...or whatever. So really, wanting to go it alone might get you in more trouble than it's worth. Getting help ain't so bad, you know. Just sayin'."
