Name: Ipsen(Alias)
Species: Human
Affiliation/Occupation: Vigilante
Physical Description:
Unarmored - A human of approximately average height at 6'0" and weighing around one hundred and fifty-five pounds, Ipsen is fairly lean for his weight. Because he spends much of his time hiding indoors or wearing his armor his skin is a tad pale, but it also lends him a fairly smooth complexion. He has short, obsidian colored hair cut just above the ears and well kept to keep it out of his face and to keep from causing issues inside his helmet. He has blue eyes with a light green tint.
Armored - The suit of Power Armor that Ipsen wears for combat is a light, three layered, basic infantry style suit. The topmost layer is the primary armor plating. The armor isn't as heavy as most Reploid and Bio-roid armor since the average human can't fight in that kind of weight even with the Power Armor's exoskeletal support. The plating covers the primary areas with minimal inhibitions on mobility. The external armor plating consists of boots, greaves, fauld, cuirass, gauntlets, pauldrons, and helmet. To maintain mobility the joints are outfitted with a different kind of armor. The second layer beneath the plating is a mesh of dense elastic material and malleable metallic fibers. While not able to take as much punishment as the metal plating, it still provides substantial protection to joints and a great deal of support to the muscular and skeletal structure of the wearer by more evenly distributing the weight of the armor and providing at least some defense to the joints of the wearer. The innermost layer is a tight bodysuit made mostly of an insulating, impact resistant gel that, through pressure and heat detection, relays vital information about the wearer's health and physical status to the HUD on the inside of the Visor of the helmet. The suit itself gives more than just defense, however. The complex wiring and sensitive systems that run through the gel layer and connect to the HUD also serve the purpose of augmenting the wearer's physical abilities to a certain degree. The second layer, when hit with any kind of energy, be it electrical, kinetic, etc. functions as a second muscular structure for the wearer, tensing up to reduce incoming damage, but also flexing to increase the strength and speed of their movements as well. THough the suit is not as effective as what a reploid, bio-roid, or cyborg is capable of...it does provide humans a means to fight on comparable terms without undergoing the major changes to their bodies that would require them to become cyborgs.
Ipsen's particular armor has the primary plating painted white with yellow trim and his underlay colored dark purple. His helmet is stylized in appearance to be completely smooth save for the two spiral Ram horns coming from just above where his ears would be on the helmet.
Equipment: Owns no weapons and carries little else with him aside from what money he has on his personal bank card at the time and his ID card, both in his wallet.
Skills/Techniques: Ipsen's primary means of combat is hand to hand. He is unable to afford a weapon currently, but he does have some training with both blade and blaster. The majority of his training and fighting experience is with martial arts and how to defend against attackers wielding weapons. Because of the nature of his training he is more adapted to defense and counter attacking rather than outright assaults. Being gimped in terms of physical ability when compared to his potential competition he often has to rely on sharp wit to overcome an enemy rather than brute force or raw speed. He is fit for a human and capable of using his Power Armor to its full extent, having enough practice at wearing it to comprehend the miniscule subtleties in moving around in it. Unlike more inexperienced fighters he doesn't overexert himself and uses momentum, center of gravity, and the suit's own capabilities to his advantage when throwing punches or taking them. He is, above all else, a technical and tactical fighter.
Being human and lacking a special weapon he has not unique abilities or techniques at his disposal. His fists, his armor, and his skill are all he has.
Hyper Mode: N/A
Backstory: Born in Abel City and raised by a loving mother and father, Ipsen's youth was probably a shining example of what most humans would dream of. He was a fairly happy child, with his mother and father being in the upper-middle class and being capable of affording more than a few luxuries. His schooling was mostly private, but quite exceptional as well. Though he wasn't a genius by any means, he was always a curious boy and eager to learn, and so he spent much of his time taking private lessons of various natures from schooling to music to martial arts.
His youth was the only innocent and peaceful part of his life, however. In his teenage years most of the things he held close were taken from him. His home, his lifestyle, his father, and his baby sister. The initial wave of Bio-roid attacks had claimed much of the life he knew. His mother was injured during that attack, and she was without the ability to move from the waist down. In the coming years she would use a large chunk of their family's funds to convert herself into a cyborg for the sake of the war effort. Still too young to join her, young Ipsen was stuck on a military base in emergency housing until the 'war' was over.
He may not have been able to finish his formal schooling, but his years spent on the military base taught him a great deal. And more importantly it made him many friends he could rely on, even some Reploid allies. It also gave him knowledge he would put to good use when the time was right. Just when the war was supposedly at its end, he got to see his mother again at last. She had survived the ordeal somehow. By this time he was a grown man, fully of age.
Using his years of martial arts training, what money his family had left after the war, and the connections and knowledge he gained while on the military base, Ipsen took his current alias, donned a slightly modified military grade suit of power armor, and prepared to start cleaning up the streets of his home.
Personality: Ipsen is a detached, reserved individual most of the time. He's almost constantly thinking, though it's not always about issues that are directly in front of him. Unless something truly catches his eye, it is only on his mind until the next impressive tidbit comes about and steals the spotlight. On the rare occasion that something does stick with him extensively, he pursues it with a nearly unrivaled fervor. The few things he's most passionate about are his loved ones, his martial arts, and his music. He has taken to martial arts thanks to his mother's side of the family during his youth as well as the circumstances of his life what with the war during his youth as well as the current rough and tumble world he lives in. His music, specifically the Electric Guitar he plays, was a gift from his father. He continues his musical pursuits because it is his primary memento to and the way that he honors his father's passing. He enscribed the name of his baby sister onto the back of the upper side of the neck of the guitar so that he can see it each time he looks down to place his fingers. Unlike others who would try to distance themself from their loss, Ipsen reminds himself of that every day as not to forget those he lost and also to continue to give himself purpose and a reason to push on despite how bleak things can sometimes seem. His detached and seemingly oblivious nature can make him come off as cold or naive. He is actually friendly and personable when you get to know him, but shoving through that barrier and getting his attention may take effort.
Additional Information:
I do hope you don't mind my specifications on the functionality of the Power Armor. I had always wondered how it was supposed to have worked, so I decided to put a few of my own ideas into the mix. I do not mean for it to be the standard for the site in any way.
