This is pretty simple here. Boss characters are solely for any Major Arc you plan. However, there are certain things you must keep in mind before creating such a character. Also, you can make multiple boss characters for a MMX boss rush type of thing and cram their profiles all in the thread you want for your current boss of your arc. However, make sure the lesser bosses aren't as strong as the main boss of the arc. But anyway:
That is all on Boss Characters. Simple, right? Though any questions/suggestions can be asked below.
- Make sure to keep one account for your Boss Characters. They are the only exception to breaking the rule of five characters per forum member (five accounts, all linked to a master account). Why? Say you're probably one of the only people making these plot-heavy arcs. What would happen if you created a bunch of boss characters? Simple...your master account will be flooded with dead bosses! (or whatever you decide to do with them later) While it'll be confusing to keep up with all the bosses on this single account (that's IF you'll end up making that many of them), do not fear! After your Boss character no longer lives or simply won't be used anymore for a while, just change your display name to the current boss in play.
- Boss characters have their own separate submission/approval sub-forum so everything won't be jumbled. This also helps you, as if you can't store your boss data on your computer, you can place it all in that boss's thread.
- They are just as they are shown: Bosses. They possess way more power than the average character and are only limited to Major Arcs. This is so the boss can't go rampant in normal RPing and own everyone. Don't get too attached to your boss if he/she dies at the end of your arc or at some point in another arc. But if you DO like your boss character that much, you can severely power them down after the arc of their defeat and level them down to a normal character. However, the profile modifications must be looked over by a mod before any further use of the character and a separate account must be made for them IF you have enough normal character slots available.
- While in the arc, be sure not to abuse the boss's power just for the sake of it. If you can't trust yourself with this kind of privilege, then don't think of creating one. A character-less NPC boss could do until you feel you're experienced enough. Boss characters are strictly for players who constantly want their boss to either take action directly or indirectly and want to give them personalities to add more depth into the arc.
- Decide the fate of your boss before even creating them. Are they destined to die after the arc, or will they live to see another day (another Major Arc)? Also, if a boss does die at the end of an arc, be sure to go back to their profile and edit their title (the topic title) by placing [Deceased] next to their name(s).
- Do not create a profile for the boss until your Major Arc is fully green lit. If for some unfortunate reason that your arc isn't approved (chances are, this won't happen because we'll work hard with you to get it approved if you cooperate appropriately), then that profile will just be there for nothing.
- Be sure to post your boss's profile in this section logged on as one of your characters (This is NOT optional. You have to do this). This'll help us further know without asking or checking your IP address/personal info that this boss character belongs to you.
