~ The Lord of Lightning ~
Name: Brand, "Thunderbrand"
Species: Reploid / Knight-type
Affiliation/Occupation: Maverick Hunter
Hunter Rank: C-Class
Physical Description: Brand is a male Reploid, appearing to be in his mid-twenties. Chronologically, he's about thirty-three years old. Aside from that, he has a youthful face with an angular chin. His eyes are a deep sapphire blue but aren't normally seen as he almost always has his visor on. His hair is long, reaching halfway down his back but it's usually kept in a ponytail. It's smooth, sleek and flaxen colored. The synthetic skin that does show, it's practically flawless. There aren't any scars, freckles, moles or anything of that sort. the complexion is of a pale white color. His dark blue & purple armor is made out of Titanium X alloy, very tough and durable. It's not that bulky, being rather sleek. There is some thickness along his forearms, feet/shins/calves and his torso but that's for the cybernetic components that is his equipment.
Equipment:
- Dual Arm-Sabers - Brand's primary weapons which are built onto his forearms and emit a steady but restricted stream of energy when activated. They are similar to Energy Sabers only they're arm-mounted. DASs appears as twin transparent blue flat blades with serrated edges. The edge doesn't actually exist physically but it adds to a frightening appearance. They emit a faint blue glow when active and can cut through most things. Power from one DAS can be rerouted to the other which causes that one to generate more energy, thus the energy blade will be bigger and can cause more damage.
- Shock Spikes - Metallic blades of Titanium X alloy curve off his forearms and calves. When power to routed to the sub-sources, blue electrical energy runs up and down them. Directly touching them can be quite shocking. Other than that, they also empower his fists, feet, elbows and knees with lesser volts of electricity, enhancing his physical attacks.
- Ionic Blaster - His left forearm and hand can mechanically morph into an arm-cannon. It's powered by a different sub-source than the DAS port on that arm. It fires regular energy shots but can be charged to launch an ionic blast. It's an electrical energy shot that can stun other Reploids or those with cybernetic/mechanical parts, if they don't have proper protection.
- Thrust Boots - In and attached to his feet/boots are miniature thrusters that can be activated for a boost. It's useful if he wants to jump higher, perform a double-jump while in midair or even kick harder/faster. The thrusters can only be activated in short bursts, so flying or even hovering is out of the question without more power.
- Overdrive Core - At the center of his body is his main power source, his Overdrive Core. It powers his whole body as well as his equipment. It's what contains the Hyper energy that will allow Brand to use Final Legacy, once the limiters are unlocked. It's true use will come into effect later.
Skills/Techniques: Brand is a Knight-type Reploid and so employs close-quarters combat techniques and melee-type weapons. He's built for speed, able to unleash a flurry of strikes before dodging attacks. He has the equipment and skill to battle at least two opponents, with a maximum of three but that would be pushing it. He's what one would consider to be a commando, an elite unit designed to combat the enemy by oneself. He's isn't a perfect versatile soldier that can beat unbeatable odds and every time but he can succeed where others have failed. Brand does have an arm-cannon built in but its potential is limited at best. It doesn't do major damage like his Arm-sabers or Shock Spikes but can be used to distract, widdle away at one's defense or its charged shot can disable a target for a brief second, enough for him to deal a powerful strike.
He's adept in hand-to-hand combat, preferring to use that in conjunction with his Shock Spikes to subdue his target. That's not to say he isn't proficient with his arm-sabers, which he is, but it isn't nearly as fun. His Thrust Boots can be employed while kicking, to make them faster and hit harder too. They allow him to jump faster and sometimes higher, which is great for dodging. Although he's limited to a few uses back to back per interval, lest he runs the risk of burning them out.
Brand fights better when by himself. He prefers to do everything himself and for the most part, can do it. He's fast, decisive and dangerous up close. His ranged weapon is rather lacking, so he can't do anything substantial at a distance. That also puts him at a disadvantage should his enemies be out of range. His armor is light bur durable, it can take a few direct blows but heavy strikes will take him down in no time.
Zap Strike: Charging his Dual Arm-Sabers, Brand dashes at a target and stabs both of his blades into them. Then he discharges the built up energy to shock them. This momentarily overloads his DAS ports and forces them to reboot. It takes two posts before they come back online.
Electro Cannon: With the use of his Shock Spikes, Brand can charge an orb of electricity then compress it to release fused bolts of energy. They mostly hit with raw kinetic force but can shock if the target takes a direct hit. Depending on their armor, the bolts can either pierce or strike with bluntness.
Hyper Mode: Final Legacy - By unlocking the limiters in place on his Overdrive Core, Brand charges and conducts massive amounts of electrical energy. His armor changes, becoming enhanced and more durable. The biggest factor Final Legacy gives Brand is a major agility boost. One could say he would be as fast as lightning. At the same time, he can wield the lightning to hit targets in an Area of Effect around him, something like an energy discharge, possibly stunning. All of his previous weapons/equipment get a boost in power, allowing for improved effects. He would also gain a new weapon called a Burst Gauntlet. It takes the electricity he generates and can either fire off a bolt of plasma, enhance a punch with energy, making it hit with super-strength or convert it into kinetic force and release as a concussive blast. It's a one-time thing that cuts the time Final Legacy can remain active, in half, before cooling down.
Backstory: Although he's an old Generation Reploid, he's a prototype for the Overdrive Core unit and as such, is the only one with it. Brand was created some time before the Bio-roids war, the exact date is obscured by malfunctions but it is estimated he was dormant for a good twenty+ years. He was a prototype unit and the capsule he was in had to run full diagnostics, simulations and maintenance before he could be activated. Unfortunately, the lab he was in had been abandoned not long after his creation, so the capsule had to go off of a self-sustaining power source which caused the process to go ten times slower. Instead of it only taking three years to complete, it took just about thirty years. Brand's capsule activated him two years before the end of the war, which allowed the Combat Reploid to see some action. With free will, Brand chose to take up the fight alongside the Maverick Hunters against the Bio-roids. When it ended, or so they thought, he was sent abroad to help everyone else rebuild but always remaining on-call.
Personality: Brand is a noble warrior. He fights to preserve the peace between man and machine, sometimes disregarding any caution for his own life. He was created for the sole purpose of fighting and does so vigilantly. It's the duty he carries upon his shoulders and it is always heavy. He may come off as aloof and strict but that is only the persona he portrays. He takes his job as a Maverick Hunter very seriously and so prefers little to no distractions. Seen through experience, acting cold gets most people to leave him be, thus leaving much room to focus on discipline, body modifications and work.
Additional Information: None of his primary weapons can be active at the same time. He can either have the DASs on or the SSs, or even one of them then the Ionic Blaster. His Thrust Boots can be active in any of this combinations. Unless he's in his Hyper Mode, he's limited in how many weapons he can use at once.
