Probably one of the most important RP elements of this place you need to work out while creating your character. Unless they are fist fighters, you need to consider what kind of weapons your character wields. Since Command Mission introduced many distinct weapons compared to the classic Buster (arm cannon) and beam swords. They introduced actual swords for Zero that are enhanced to deal just as much (or even stronger) damage than his famed Z-Saber. The newer characters like Massimo and Marino used Axes and Daggers. Remember: Most, if not all weaponry in this era relies on Titanium X (more tough than normal Titanium, which is obsolete) as the main material in constructing and crafting weapons, as well as armor.
So yes. It's possible to have any type of weapon you want for any style of fighting! The MMX series is very free-minded and any weapon you could think of can fit perfectly. I'm not going to get all technical other than saying what I stated above with Titanium X. Up to you if you want to make it complicated. We won't be breathing down your neck saying you can't used this kind of weapon because it logically doesn't make sense or anything like that. Weapons are the only thing that can really defy logic here (But don't get carried away now. You'll know when a certain weapon might be completely ludicrous). So have fun giving your characters they're preferred weapons! Again, anything is possible.
Now, let's get to special abilities. This is really lenient as well so I don't have to say much, as the MMX series is also free-minded when it comes to it's characters/enemies having special elemental powers, etc. Minus normal human beings, every species is capable of some special power either built in naturally with them or due to the influence of cybernetics on Cyborgs, as well as weapons can have some sort of special ability (as long as it makes sense). Some Reploids like Magma Dragoon from Mega Man X4 was a martial artist dragon-man Reploid that controlled flaming powers and possessed EXTREMELY strong fire resistance (He could live in pools of lava in a Volcano for goodness sake!), but he was weak to his element's natural opposite element. That's the price to pay for characters like that, but something like elemental weaknesses aren't that big of a deal. But if you play a lot of games, you should know which elements harm each other and vice versa. If not, just ask a mod for extended assistance.
