While Equipment is what essentially makes up some of our characters, there are certain limitations on how much your character can actually "hold" on them if said equipment isn't attached/apart of them. But do know that weapons and armor have to balance out so it could make logical sense for your character to hold so much on them...without hindering their movement, that is. As known in Mega Man, having a lot of weapons and equipment at your disposal is common. If anything, that's a key MM trait. Characters having multiple weapons/equipment gives them an entire arsenal of possibilities, and in some cases, make them unique. But in this RP, you'll have to find a logical way of your characters having all of this equipment.
The new limited amount of weapons/items a character can possess is at least up to 9. This is also considering how big or small they are. Why 9? Well, once you look at MM/MMX, your arsenal of total weapons/abilities are always 9, including the character's default weapon. To fit further into the MM theme, it's better to have equipment numbering on par with what characters in the games can have.
However, if your character's arsenal consist of larger weapons that they can't fit all of their stuff on them at once, then play a little smart with it and have them go into battle (or more accurately, topic) with what they'll essentially need for that situation. Think of it like your character has their own large weapon collection at their home and takes what they need when needed. Remember, resort to this only if your character logically can't carry too much on them.
Finally, getting new weapons/equipment. It's VERY common in a MM setting for characters to gain new weapons or abilities as they battle. New gear does not cost any Zenny and you can get anything new at your pleasure. Just don't steal anything from PCs without the player's permission. Likewise for player-controlled NPCs. It only costs Zenny if you want to upgrade the gear. Just make sure said new equipment is something they are suited for, or fits within their criteria. For an example: I wouldn't dare give Magnus a gun when he's a weapon and melee specialist. As a ninja character, swords, throwing weapons, and archery fall within his arsenal.
