So, now you've seen all these species talked about here and there, but I bet it's hard to find out which you'd RP better with. So maybe this will help you, maybe it won't. But for the sake of the RP and for possible PvP knowledge, it's advised to look here anyway even if you've already decided on your preferred species. I'm sure it's weird calling a robot a species, but there are two human types on this list, so deal with it. But anyway, let's cut to the chase.
Since this RP (and MM games in general) doesn't use numbered statistics, I'll describe their strengths with their common abilities.
--------
Reploids/New Generation Reploids
This generation's robots that on average are designed to look similar to X. But as knowledge increased over the years, Reploids can now look completely different than the blue bomber. Various Maverick bosses were Reploids, yet looked nothing like X at all and had completely different weapony and abilities, they do not have to rely on his design anymore. But before getting into what they can do, let's start with some basic knowledge.
Reploids have been built like X and Zero; having the ability to think, feel, and have free will like human beings. So basically, they are robots with emotions and can feel and express themselves just like a human can. As technology improves, Reploids are quickly evolving to where they are on a human's level in mind. Things have gotten as far as to some Reploids even looking more humanoid. You could even mistaken some for a human if they conceal certain parts of their body with some sort of clothing. Though most can tell if one is a Reploid simply by looking at the side of their heads where ears should be, but aren't. Those spots are usually covered with round transmitters that acts as both their physical hearing and communication links with other Reploids or if a Maverick Hunter, their means of contact when on missions. Some more humanoid Reploids have these transmitters slimmed down or even covered with a head piece.
So now, let's get into their specs. Reploids are generally masters of balance when it comes to long and close range fighting. However, they generally have an area of superiority in either close or ranged combat. While they are masters of one, they are still good with the other. It's up to the player whether their Reploid is stronger in close or long range. As for durability, Reploids are the most sturdy of fighters, using their Titanium X alloy to it's peak from head to toe with their own bodies as armor and weapons. Generally, everything from armor to weaponry is made with Titanium X because it's the strongest alloy and material currently made. This is mostly their strongest point, as it takes a lot to fully bring a Reploid down to their knees. Also, Reploids are semi-immortal if their control chip (which acts as their brain and memory storage) is still in shape if they die or get blown to pieces. They can have a completely new body constructed for them. However, once that chip is gone, then they truly are finished for good.
New Generation Reploids are not too diverse from older models. If anything, they possess the same exact combat specs. The only key difference between a New Generation and older model is their copy chip. This chip is exclusive to New Generations only, as older models have not ever been tested with them. The copy chip allows one to mimic the appearance and limited abilities of any Reploid as long as the New Generation possess their DNA. The games never specifically mentioned how the process went of stealing the DNA other than killing the desired target. So for simplicity sake, we'll just make something up non-canon for this RP. Killing the target will not be the only way. As such, you can go about anyway you want on DNA extraction when it comes to NPCs. However, if you want to copy a PC, you have to work that out with the player of that character through PM or other reliable means of communication. Frankly, DNA extraction can be quite the confusing topic. So instead, New Generations will be able to scan and analyze their target with their free hand thanks to the copy chip's granted ability. Again, do not insta-scan a PC. Check with the player you're against (or possibly allied with too) for their approval. They have the right to deny having their characters copied (as a second reminder: only Reploids can be copied). Also, the information acquired from the scan does not last forever. I'd say a whole topic is enough before the replicated DNA expires.
Humans
Pretty self-explanatory here. No need to get into some huge explanation. However, just because humans have no natural abilities doesn't mean they can't fight! With technology on this level in this era, humans can construct and wield weapons of high caliber. Enough to protect themselves from enemies with the famed Titanium X alloy. Their only downfall is that they lack special abilities and solely depend on their weaponry or if they construct a power suit of some sort. (think, Samus Aran!)
Cyborgs
Humans with cybernetics applied to their bodies. Nowadays, humans can convert themselves to be a fighting machine to keep up with Reploids. Back before the Bio-roids came into the picture, Cyborgs were quite uncommon and only were around due to tragic accidents that they narrowly escaped from as full humans and were given a second chance in life thanks to cybernetics. Even after those who willingly underwent converting, the mess with the Bio-roids still caused those horrible tragedies. As told in the setting, Cyborgs were even accepted into the Maverick Hunters to bolster their numbers and help with this world's crisis together. In a way, X's dream for humans and Reploids to coexist in peace is at a good start with this if they can trust each other enough to watch their backs.
Before getting into their specs, here's the basics of a Cyborg. Any human whose had some sort of mechanical operation their bodies are labeled as Cyborg. From loosing their limbs or arms in an explosion to having their entire body ravaged and unable to normally function like it could anymore...cybernetics help them live life with a second chance, as well as making sure events like that could never happen to them again by giving them the ability to fight on an advanced level. However, depending on their situation and if they still have growing and functional human body parts, they have to get constant modifications for their growth...especially children who end up Cyborgs. Sometimes, armor is placed over their ravaged bodies and that can still make them grow. In a way, Edward Elric from Full metal Alchemist is a Cyborg if fit into this setting. Not 'exactly' true, but that's just to give you a general idea of a Cyborg whose fortunate enough to still have most of their human body parts at least there and intact.
So finally, the specs. Cyborgs are quite offensive, as when it comes to durability, they can have either poor or average protection depending on if they are full Cyborg or not. As such, they strictly rely on their combat skills and weaponry to make up for their durability. If full Cyborg, their durability is quite good since their armor uses the Titanium X alloy...but their head and other possible vital points are still exposed, making them second place in defensive, right under Reploids. However, they are incredibly balanced out to make up for that fault. To fight more efficiently, most Cyborgs have quite the amazing agility due to their enhancements, a slightly better acceleration system than a Reploid and their overall power is at least on par with the average Reploid. They are also balanced with long or close ranged combat, but usually does better with one or the other. So basically speaking, a Reploid who's sacrificed some durability for increased speed.
Bio-roids
They are generally shown as the scum of the earth due to what their kind has done push everyone in a corner. But not all Bio-roids are bad. There are some that were built just like any normal Reploid and they could be scorned or even retired on the spot just for being one. However, due to their appearance, they can blend in like any other Reploid if they do not reveal their maximum potential.
As said before, Bio-roids take the appearance of Reploids, but the difference between them is the biological matter that resides within also gives them the edge they have over Reploids in combat. At first during the war, these chemicals were physically shown in their midsection, but later designs covered the stomach area completely and now you can't even tell the difference unless you see them in action. Bio-roids can fight exactly the same as a Reploid, as well as have their strengths, just that their battle specs are off the scale and they are nearly as powerful as the Class S Hunters at their fullest potential. However, this power comes with a price...their durability is what keeps them from being perfect. The Titanium X alloy and it's protection is severely weakened due to their biological matter from within. As such, they could go down just as easily as a human, however they are still more durable than them by default.
At the start unless specially programed, Bio-roids lack control of their power. As such, they are purposely restricted by their creators with a program that lowers their fighting potential to help avoid being discovered. As this program is disabled piece by piece, their strength is increased more and more until it reaches it's maximum. Most creators feel as though this program should be permanent until Bio-roids can be accepted as part of the world.
