The ninja borg's expression seemed more calmed, though it was due to finally realizing her left eye, which seemed bionic. Chances are, she possessed other mechanical parts. So...she was just like him. "...The same." However given how she kept her eye hidden, he had a feeling she either wasn't too comfortable with it installed or she simply just wanted to hide it. It was very understandable though. He looked away for a little while as he halted completely, raising his own cybernetic arm that was covered by his sleeve and gazing at his hand. When he recovered from his own operation, he used to hide his limbs when in public and off duty when he was a hunter. But when his garbs failed numerous times, he eventually began wearing his removable body armor in the open, no longer caring what others thought. Other than finding out it was pointless, it didn't matter on the opinions of those he didn't know...and more importantly, couldn't trust.
But something tells him her case is different. Though whatever it was, it'd be inappropriate to mention or question it. He never liked talking about the deep details of the past himself, so he wasn't going to poke his nose in someone else's if they felt the same way. But in a way despite the unfortunate events, knowing that there are others out there just like him...it reduced the stress. A lot more accidents and shocking situations occurred like his own due to the war...people suffered just as much, or even more than he did.
"Yeah. I guess you're right..." He also had a pretty obvious realization just now, though actually broadcasting it with words as he continued to stare into the palm of his robotic hand. "...Heh. It's funny though. When you take a good look at your own hand and can't remember too well on how it felt for it to be organic, you realize that time flies by way too fast...so quick that even I can't catch up with it." The last he actually took a close look at his hand, he remembered it was still pretty small and with skin. Before he knew it, he grew into a full-blown man without even realizing it too well. Of course, he already knew he wasn't a child anymore...just that he never had to time to stop and look at the fact that time passed so briskly. Was it the decade-long war and it's aftermath that distracted him from the flow of time or was he just too trapped into the past itself? Probably both.
"But it's also a good reason to keep on moving instead of dwelling." He clenched his fist, shifting his gaze towards the park now. "The augmented parts received are also a gift. It gave us a second chance at life...and the power to carve a new path in life we couldn't take in our previous one. I used to hate being like this...but now, I'm glad that I was given the chance to do something with these new limbs and powers granted to me."
Yeah...he never knew how much of a change he drastically underwent. He went from a timid orphaned child to a blade specialist. He always wanted to help with the world's problems when he dreamed about being this age. Without even realizing it, his dream sort of came true. When he was trained in the ways of the shinobi unofficially, that was his initial starting point to the future he desired as a kid. But...why when he finally arrived in the future as a young man, there was much despair within? Perhaps what happened to Priscilla and all the other lives he failed to save during war time made him realize how weak he is. He possessed the skill of a shinobi, yes...but that didn't mean crap when you didn't have the strength to back it up.
He turned back to Ada, placing a genuine smile on his face for a change. "Hah. You just helped me realize something I should have a long time ago. Gotta thank you for that."

Ada stopped walking herself as her company did. As he gazed at his hand and seemed to openly think, the young Hunter found herself slowly pulling her arms back behind herself, that bang of hair falling once again to cover her eye. Her pose was now timid, and probably more feminine looking than she had been this entire time. Might've even looked cute, were it not for the saddened look in her eye.
It's just been a little over two years, so she still remembered what it was like to have organic limbs. The warmth and feeling behind her skin... She still remembered it. There were even times when she kept her mind on it, Ada could feel it all over again. But the moment she touched her arms or legs... It was a cruel reminder. She could look at herself in the mirror after a shower and see a full human body, but yet all she needed was a knife to cut through the facade and show the metal underneath. She always did her best not to show that part of her, though.
Then came the next part of his speech. A 'second chance'? Well, were it not for them, she likely would have died, and Ada didn't even want to dare think of what would happen to her father if that came to pass. Plus, were it not for her new limbs, she likely wouldn't have been able to become a Hunter. If anything, she'd likely be out looking for a regular job like any other normal girl. Looking at herself now, she was glad she's a Hunter, even if it meant being different. But two years... They say a lot can happen in that time, and a lot has happened, but yet everything still seems like it took place not that long ago. Sounds like an oxymoron, but that's how she felt.
"Anytime," she replied with a smile of her own, but it was forced. Even her tone was down slightly. 'I'm thinking too much again...'
It always was a bit of a problem. No matter what she did, she could always seem to sadden herself on subjects like that. Especially when it pertained to herself in such a fashion. Heck, she could probably think herself into a serious depression even. However, at least the talked helped someone in someway.
"Hey, uh..." Ada took a quick breath, wanting to get herself under control. "I already got what I need for a report. I don't want to keep you any longer than I have to so... If you want, you can go."
Nope, it wasn't working. She couldn't even get her Hunter persona up to hide it. Why did she have to be emotional now of all times?

He arched an eyebrow at her reply, seeing the expression on her face clearly. "Ah, damn it...did I say too much?" Probably so. While he wasn't much of a talker, that subject in particular always brings out the most in him...sometimes unable to hold back his words during. He would give her a pat on the shoulder and leave her be but...yeah, gynophobic reasons. He kind of shivered slightly at the idea, thought not noticeably. If anything, he should be more troubled about being afraid of women than his past. Kind of makes his options limited in calming her down about what's currently occupying her mind. But what HASN'T this phobia done that gets him in a hard situation?
But he had to at least start by being honest. "Hmm...well, if you think you're holding me up or anything, I wouldn't worry about that. I really came to this city for a job I was hired for...and I'm kinda done with that. Sorta." He said sorta because while he eliminated the targeted rogues, he was also told to keep an eye out for any more that may be around. Ever since that day he battled that rogue shinobi group, it seemed like they've been targeting him a lot. In truth, he was glad to track them all the way out here to see if he could rid them for good...but for some reason, this "small" group may not be small after all. But there was no need to explain that to her. This turned from something the hunters need to handle to something he has to personally take care of, especially after what happened at that warehouse.
"So really I'm just hanging around...and hungry, admittedly." His stomach kind of growled immediately...loud enough to be heard. He hated when that happened. When he was hungry, his stomach sure did know how to tell him AND everyone around him. He blushed a little out of mere embarrassment as he rubbed the back of his head, looking down on loyal partner to quickly attempt to change her focus. "...Plus, Ignius seems to take quite a liking to you. He usually doesn't like strangers." Which was true, since the canine partner was sitting on his bum next to Ada's leg. But it was another trait he liked about the dog. Just like any animal, despite him being mechanical, he can sort of feel the emotion's of people. Standing next to her mostly meant he was trying to cheer her up from whatever she's thinking about.
But it was thanks to Ignius that he had an idea on what to say without making her sadder than she appeared, looking directly at her for a second time. "But I think you need a walk more than I do. Tokyo's scenery seems great enough to clear the mind. Aaaaaand...I kinda don't know where I'm going. Thought I'd ask someone eventually where to find the closest food joint...heh...heh." it was hard to admit, but he really was lost after he took those rogues down. Ada was free to decline and return to her work though. He had a good talent in finding out where he needs to go if he gets lost with a little wandering around, which he was doing earlier before bumping into that thief. But...something told him when he first arrived that he should have grabbed a tutor guide or something before going deeper into the city!

Ada nearly did a double take on Magnus. He... didn't want to leave yet? Most people were ready to dart after she was done questioning someone. It wasn't due to her mood change, was it? The last thing she wanted was someone pitying her, but he didn't sound like it. At least he wasn't making any indication. Only using the fact that he was done with a job, so he had nothing else to do. Although, the way he said 'sorta' made her wonder if there was some hidden meaning or if it was just him being awkward around her.
Still, once his stomach made itself known, Adaline couldn't help but let a smile cross her lips, following a small laugh as she saw the look on Magnus' face. His attempt to veer the focus worked well enough though when he mentioned Ignius. Ada didn't even realize the dog was there until she looked to her side. Sure enough, the big guy was there.
"Thanks, Ignius," she said as she patted his head.
Feeling a little better, she stuffed a hand in a pocket while listening to Magnus. A walk could definitely do her some good, and she just so happened to know a place she could take him. Nearby, too.
"Actually, I know a place just down the road on the other side of the park. The food is pretty good, and there's outdoor seating so Iggy won't have to be alone." She then turned her attention to the canine. "Is it okay for me to call you that?"

"Woof!"
There goes his chipper bark again, which was a sign of approval for his new little nickname. Magnus himself was quite happy that Ignius really can get closer to people other than he. If something were to happen to him on one of his jobs, his loyal partner would be lonely if he couldn't trust others. Of course, the mercenary was confident that he wouldn't allow someone or something to end his life so easily. But watching him actually allowing Ada to pet him showed that the dog was finally learning how to be more open with strangers. Or maybe he's just been crossing too many bad apples. They say dogs can feel evil.
With the inside joking aside, the ninja borg nodded his head with a smile as he kept a hand on his stomach. "All right, that sounds perfect." Food...just thinking about it made him hungrier by the second. Though hopefully he could keep himself under control. Whenever food is involved, the mercenary had the tendency of getting all out of character. He had quite the appetite...and the hunger from not eating anything all day would just embarrass himself even more.
He awaited for her to lead the way, but as he did that, his stomach growled loudly again. He placed his hand over his face, covering is embarrassed expression as he was quite ashamed that he couldn't keep his vociferous stomach of his under control. "...Y-yeah. After you."

Ada shook her head with a smile at the second growl. His stomach had a mind of its own, didn't it? "Okay, come on." She motioned her head as she turned and started walking toward the other exit of the park. Why walking through the park? Simple. For one, the place was on the other end and it would be far quicker to go through the park than going back out and around it, and two, who doesn't enjoy being around healthy nature every once in a while? There's not a lot of it that was safe these days.
"By the way, what's it like being a mercenary? I haven't met a lot of them personally, so I only know what other hunters tell me. Really, I always wanted to hear it from a merc's point of view."
Needless to say, not a lot of the comments regarding mercenaries from hunters were compliments. Although despite what they say, she never took it all to heart. The best source for that information was always a mercenary them-self, as far as she was concerned. Plus given the fact that he said he used to be a hunter...
"You don't have to answer though. I mean, I'm just curious."

The park definitely had a nice scenery, so he was actually glad to take this route. He had to give it to Tokyo...it had more natural life compared to Abel City, where most of the technology took over most natural area portions of the city's interior. So it was definitely a nice change of scenery that he was used to. He really needed to get out of Abel a lot more often. Besides, he likes to go around to places he's never been to before.
When Ada asked him a question about how things worked, he sort of pondered for a bit, cuffing both hands on the back of his head. "Hmm...well, it depends on the type of merc, I suppose. Since we're pretty freelance, we get to take on any job we want...set our own priorities and work hours." That was at least a good point in being one anyway. "...You could say a mercenary's a less darker Bounty Hunter, but it depends on the person. You've the neutral ones who just doesn't care for anything, but their paycheck. Then there are some like me that are just people wanting to help others out while getting paid to sustain their livelihood." He sighed a bit as to how he phrased the first. "...The former far outnumbers guys like me to be honest. It's mostly why hunters and mercs don't see eye-to-eye very well. But most mercenaries in particular don't care about the hunter's views and would still work with them if it meant money in their pocket."
Yeah, that would be the more honest description. He always did try his best to stick out compared to most mercs, but everywhere he went, he'd get stepped on just because he was a "self-centered sellsword" ...even though that was just a stupid stereotype he'd get accused for.

Ada listened intently on every word Magnus said. It was what she wanted to hear, that not all mercenaries are self-centered people. Majority or not, to know there were people out there who honestly had good intentions in the work that they do put the words of the other hunters to rest. Her ideals still held water, it seems. But then an idea surfaced.
"At least there are some honest people amongst the ranks... Still, all that tension. The way I see it, mercenaries are able to do things we hunters can't, just like we can do things mercs can't do. Kinda wish there was a way that they can work at more of a joint effort where views of a situation didn't matter. Only the progress..." The young hunter shook her head. "But they keep saying I'm too 'young' and 'inexperienced' to understand. They say kids don't know any better, but they act like kids themselves bickering about who is 'right'! I mean, seriously! It's so freaking stupid!"
Once Adaline stomped her foot, she finally realized that she was getting angry just talking about it. That... was actually the first time that happened. Maybe a little irritated, but it never rose beyond that. Since when was she so passionate about it? The idea of how she looked while talking actually worried her a little. Just enough to get a small blush on her.
"Oh, uh... Sorry. I don't know what brought that up." Seriously, what did get her so worked up?

The young cyborg merely looked to Ada at the corner of his eyes as they widened with surprise. But then suddenly afterwards, he simply laughed a bit. "...Hah hah! No, you actually hit the nail on the head there." He was likely about a few years younger than her when he first joined the hunters, but he remembered being nearly the same way.
"That's...actually something similar to what I've been trying to find when I left the organization behind. You're right though...instead of trying to see who's view of handling Maverick activity was right, this world...both hunters and other peacekeepers need to come together for a better solution instead of being at each other's necks...and it takes someone grown up to realize that." After that, his tone became a little more earnest like earlier, but he still kept a smile on his features. "Could you do me a little favor, Ada? No matter what happens on your path as a hunter...no matter how rough it may get...don't stray from your goals. Show them what you're made off, literally. And once they see your growth, they'll have to listen to you...if they don't, then they're really true fools."
Being a hunter wasn't his thing, and he wish he had seen that sooner. But at this time and age, those hot-head hunters needed more people like Ada in their ranks to make some sort of change to their ways. With only one Class S left in service that was actually a respectable individual from what he heard, him alone wasn't enough...and who knows when the other two will be back on their feet again after the war.

She... hit the nail on the head? Really? That was the first time someone actually agreed with her, inside or outside of headquarters. It was refreshing... and even a little funny. Maybe what Ada said about the two of them not being all that different actually meant a little more than just at a physical standpoint. If that was so, it was completely unintentional.
Taking note of the tone change, Ada listened to the request Magnus made. However, it wasn't much different than her own goals at the time. She gave a confident smile as she spoke, "Of course I'll stick to them. I'll stake my life on it." She picked up the pace a little before turning around and walking backward. "But you have to do the same on your end, got it? Both you and Iggy. Again, it has to be a joint effort."
She turned again, taking note of the corner up ahead. Once they round that turn, it shouldn't be much longer before they reach their destination.

Well, he didn't expect her to turn it around on him either, but he should have seen it coming. Finding a way to serve justice his own way...the dream that both he and Priscilla shared. Even though she's gone, he had to continue it for her sake as well. How could he disagree after saying something like that to Ada anyway? And not like he was going to give up anyway. He wouldn't have gone through the trouble of leaving the hunters. He simply replied with, "You got it!" before giving a thumbs up, Ignius replying with his own chipper bark as well.
He realized the corner they were going to hit soon and they were still partly in the natural areas of the park...but something seemed a little off. Like, something was around the general area. Usually when his ninja sense would kick in like this, it never bode well. It was then that he noticed a shadow far away zip from a bush to another. Sort of familiar with this type of sneaking around, he grumbled a bit under his breath.
"Damn...the Forsaken again?"
What's worse was that he wasn't alone this time. He knew how the rogue organization worked and if one were to engage in combat with them, said person is marked as their sworn enemy to their so-called "cause". "...Hold on." He spoke calmly to her, but had an obvious frown settled on his face. He couldn't allow Adaline...nor the hunters in general to get mixed up with this, but he knew she'd fight back if push came to shove. But if he could take them out and leave no survivors, then they wouldn't be able to place Ada on their blacklist...as he remembered only the leaders had the camera eyes. They had to be leftovers from earlier.
His hyper sense came into immediate effect as he heard some movement from above. Then in an instant, his ninja helmet and mask activated as three shurikens were cuffed between his fingers and he threw them upwards to where he heard the movement. As the reinforced throwing stars hurled upwards to a tree, they struck -something-. Then a moment later, a rogue maverick fitting the description of a Forsaken rogue came falling out the tree with the shurikens stabbed into his head. Having little time to examine the rogue thoroughly, Magnus unsheathed his sword as three more emerged from the shadows from all directions.
"Incoming! This area's likely crawling with quite a few of them." He warned to the young hunter. He wondered if she was prepared for a fight. It didn't seem like she had much equipment on her, but she could be hiding it if she was able to fight off that thief from earlier.

That whole insecure feeling finally left her as she heard the other two agree to her condition. It was actually kinda nice, having a sort of pact with another person. It gave her more of a drive to keep doing what she is doing already. Given the way others are treating her at the moment, like a rookie to be blunt, it helps to have something like this. Even the idea of the two of them working together crossed her mind in the moment, but that likely wouldn't end well. He left the Hunters, after all, so--
A moving figure was seen at the tip of Ada's vision, making her look to see what it was. Nothing though, which was going to make her keep moving on, that is until Magnus spoke up. She stopped in her tracks, looking at him. He seemed focused, like he was searching for something. Then the realization finally hit the young woman. They weren't alone. But by the time they both heard the bit of movement above them, Magnus was the first to react and throw weapons up above, bagging a destroyed reploid that fell to the ground.
Ada wanted to see what this person was, but she didn't even get a chance as more shown up. She heeded Magnus' warning, though she was partly worried about the situation. She didn't have any of her armor on. Whatever happens here, she can't afford to take a hit anywhere but her limbs. Well... she did state that she was bored. Now she really regretted it.
As she grabbed one of her daggers, one of these apparent rogues charged right at the two of them with weapon drawn, looking intent on killing. He was fast, but not fast enough. Adaline dashed in front of him, seemingly surprising the attacker as she kicked away his weapon, kneed him in the torso with her other leg just enough to stun him, and finally activated her beam dagger as she drove the weapon into the attacker's head. For anyone watching, it was clear that the speed she performed that counter was nothing close to what a human could do.
It was easy... Too easy. In fact, it was only after the roid hit the ground that she realized the attack wasn't meant for her. It was meant for Magnus based on the angle he was going. Did he just pick a target and go for it? No, the ambush seemed too well orchestrated for someone to be that amateurish. Then the most logical explanation is that... This was meant for him.
"So, who's your friends?" she asked as another charged, this time gunning for her. She was able to block the strike, attempting to attack back with her other dagger but missing as they jumped back. "Because if I didn't know any better, I'd say this party was meant for you."

"...Friends, huh? I guess you can say that..." He noticed the one coming for Adaline while the other was still a far bit away. If he used his acceleration system a bit, he could take them both out at once before they could get closer. As such, he pulled a kunai out and threw it to the one coming for him to slow him down, then dashed forth pass Ada as he swiftly swung his Phoenix Edge horizontally to sever the roid in half from his top half before he could bring down his own sword, then kicked himself off the destroyed rogue as he gained a sudden burst of speed from his legs. He was rocketed upwards and flipped down on the last approaching rogue and with a swift drop, he decapitated him on the spot.
When two more emerged from the bushes, he walked backwards back to where Ada was. "...They're the Forsaken, a rogue organization. Long story short, they're a band of rogues with an unknown cause...and I'm one of the unlucky guys who're on their blacklist. Likely some I missed from my job earlier..." That was about the only bit of an explanation he could give, since he'd have to save the rest for when it was over. But one of the rogues causally walked towards the two, his own mask covering his face, but it was hard to tell what he was thinking since the underlings suffered from complete mind control. He seemed to be looking to Adaline as he continued to creep slowly.
"...This is private organization business. Run along...fighting alongside this man will be your undoing..."
Magnus raised an eyebrow, surprised they were even giving her a chance since she did kill one of their allies. While he himself couldn't trust their word, he looked to Adaline from the corner of his eye. "...I hate to say it, but he's right. While I appreciate the help, it'd be bad if you were placed on their blacklist if one of them happened to escape. They'll come after you when you're alone...relentlessly. I can handle these guys. I've fought them a lot to know how to defeat them without too much trouble." His initial plan WAS to kill them all, so her helping might not be a bad idea. But he just didn't want to take the risk of any of them still hiding and may flee. Either that, or he could lure them out of hiding to ensure Ada won't get blacklisted....but then he had an idea. He sent a certain silent signal command to Ignius as he tapped a spot on his helmet, the canine then showing a sign of obedience as he ran away from the battle and rushed off into the natural areas.
"Don't get ahead of yourself, ninja. You'll be crushed for interfering with our cause!"
"Yeah...I've heard this plenty. Let's just shut up and get to the point." The ninja borg set his sword ablaze, ready for any sort of movement from the enemy whatsoever.

Ada kept herself ready to jump in as Magnus went to work, but he was able to handle himself better than she originally imagined. Sure, she knew a mercenary needed a certain degree of skill, but still. That was an amazing display of speed and power. Maybe she should have kept a bit of strength tuned in to her cybernetics when she asked to have it changed before... No, she was fine with how she worked right now. It's what got her to where she is right now anyway.
"Forsaken?" That name just stuck to her as she heard it. It sounded familiar... Did she hear it in HQ before? If so, it was likely in passing. If someone told it to her directly, she would likely remember more details other than the name alone...
But the fact that she was given a choice to run was a big surprise to her. What kind of 'cause' that rogue reploids, possibly mavericks, have actually gave possible threats a chance to leave? And while the concern from Magnus was touching in its own way, she couldn't do it.
"Sorry, but since your 'organization' has been brought to the Maverick Hunters attention, I can't simply turn a blind eye. I would suggest you leave now before I have a definitive reason to let HQ know you all have turned Maverick. On top of that..." she glanced at Magnus before continuing, "I don't abandon my partner just because I get out of the crossfire."

"...Folly. Maverick Hunters need to know their place...but very well. We've warned you, human. Now die along with this--"
Just as the rogue maverick was readying his swords, Magnus instantly blurred frontwards into motion as he performed a thrust with his Phoenix Edge clean through the talking roid's face unexpectedly. Since he was thrown into battle, the completely merciless side of him that stemmed from battle kicked in, giving no mercy to his opponents now. It was perfectly displayed when he gave the reploid no time to prepare himself before showcasing the brutality. After pulling the sword out and dropped the enemy dead, the other one waved his hand as a signal for about four more of his allies to emerge from hiding. He then pulled out shurikens similar to the ones Magnus used and tossed them at him quickly one by one. Since the cyborg had just finished an attack, he didn't bother to counter, so he just dodged the shurikens until he was near Adaline again.
He had a feeling it'd turn out this way, but he wasn't really expecting her to just back down either. However, it was too late to think like that now. It was all the more reason to kill them all to make sure Adaline wasn't officially blacklisted. Besides, from how she defeated the enemy earlier, the young hunter was pretty good at defending herself. "...Ignius is snuffing out the rest from hiding, so let's wipe out every last one we see." He said as he eyed a few of the Forsaken members. Since he was focusing on the battle in front of them, he couldn't really feel out anymore hiding. But from the looks of things, there aren't many left after the ones all around them, so he just had to depend on Ignius to get the rest out.
All the enemies now sprinted forth towards the two, cornering them from all sides. One of them targeted Magnus as he flipped wildly with Titanium X claws equipped. The ninja borg was forced to evade the crazed-assault entirely, for it was too wild to block or deflect. One more sneaked behind him that fought exactly the same, however, Magnus was aware of his presence as he twisted around and with two quick swings from his Phoenix Edge while it was still ablaze, the reploid's top half was chopped into four-halves before he could do a crazy movement like his partner did, the mercenary managing to strike him in a few of his bodily weak points.
When he came back into contact with the other, they both began hacking at each other, but eventually as Magnus got the hang of his crazy movements, he was able to dodge and strike one of the claws, as it caused the reploid to stagger backwards. Magnus took advantage of the momentary opening and tried to thrust his weapon forth, but the enemy was able to read him instantly, flipping wildly to the side again and retaliating with swing his arm and the claw. The mercenary recovered quickly and dodged it mostly, but the sharp claws managed to rip through the shoulder of his coat and scratched his synthetic skin. Since it wasn't a severe wound, Magnus took in the pain and dashed right in, swinging his sword upwards. The clawman managed to block it with both claws, but the clash of the impact rocketed him off the ground and upwards, the mercenary now having an opening. He jumped up nearly the same time as the reploid went airborne and in quick execution that the human eye couldn't follow completely, he severed all the rogue's limbs from his body with great precision of each sword strike and as they both fell back down, all that was left connected to the reploid was his head and body.
During his little struggle with the two claw users, the other three was targeting Adaline. He had to make it over there as soon as possible to help her out. He had to take a couple of seconds to catch his breath, then went rushing towards them.
