A pair of hands stretched up to the sky before falling to a bench on either side of Ada. She was slouching in seat, eyes halfway open with her bangs slowly sliding down her cheek and showing part of her red eye. She didn't care at the moment, though. After all... "I'm... so... BORED!" Her outburst at the last word caught the attention of a couple passersby, but they dismissed it as quickly as they acknowledged her. The girl cyborg hadn't gotten a mission in quite some time, making her rather restless as she got to the point where she's been visiting Hunter HQ almost two times a day. This time, she didn't even bother putting her armor on, just going in in her normal clothing.
Sure, the whole purpose of Maverick Hunters were to preserve peace, but can't she at least investigate some kind of suspicious activity? Surely there was someone out there acting all shady and stuff... Then again, who doesn't do that every now and then? "I just had to sign up after the war, didn't I?" Ada finally got out of her slouched position, leaning forward while resting her arms on her legs, the feeling between the two a reminder that she doesn't have organic legs anymore. She sighed, feeling a little depressed all of a sudden. Sure, thanks to these limbs she was finally able to work on the same level as Reploids, but it's because of these that she technically isn't a Human anymore. Rolling up a sleeve, she stared at the 'skin' on her arm. It was a convening double, to be sure, but she knew it was fake. She didn't admit it, but...
"HELP!" the cry made her jump. It sounded like a woman, her eyes scanning the area (in human sense) for a lady in distress. One came into view, a man pulling a lady's purse at gun-point at the end of the street.
"Oh, scrap!" Ada shot up and made a mad dash after them. Many people would consider the distance between Ada and the thief too far for a normal person to do anything, but she wasn't a normal person. That distance was closed quickly as she yelled, "Stop right there!" The man stopped going after the purse, now more concerned about the cyborg about to be in front of his face in two blinks. Going on instinct, he pointed the gun at Ada and shot, Ada ducking low enough for the shot to go over her head as she soon got underneath the outstretched arm and pushed the gun up, keeping a sturdy grip around the thief's wrist.
"The heck are you?!" he asked in a panic while fighting back. Ada clenched her teeth to keep him under control, knowing her arms are only about as strong as a well-trained Human. She had to make sure to react to his movements in order to keep him at bay. For all she knew, he could actually be stronger than her.
He made a quick motion, one that Ada was prepared for and moved to try for a disarm. It worked, but not before he fired off a shot that hit the lady in her leg, her falling to the ground. Ada's heart dropped as she saw this, leaving an opening that the thief took to punch her in the gut rather hard, knocking the wind out of her to where he was able to start running away. "Hey! Get back..." She wanted to go after him, but glancing at the wounded lady, the Hunter knew she couldn't just leave her there. Still, she couldn't just let the guy off the hook for this. "Hold on! I'm calling for help!" she said as she knelt down and put pressure on the wound, the lady crying in pain as blood was rushing down her leg. Ada pulled out an ear piece from her jacket's pocket, putting it on without any hesitation. "This is Maverick Hunter Adaline! I need an ambulance on my location, STAT! Also the suspect is currently on foot headed east, also from my location! Any backup within the area, please respond!"

Well, that just about wrapped up another day's job.
He had to admit, he wasn't a fan of coming all the way out here to Tokyo just for a job. But the same rogue Mavericks he's been having constant aggression with have been trying to take their crime elsewhere and far out. Really, it was just three of them causing a ruckus compared to their usual group size. Why couldn't a mercenary down here take care of it, anyway? Well...he HAS been fighting these guys previously and know their patterns and such by now, so he figured that's why Emilie thought he'd better hop to the job before word got out down here and any local mercs would shoot them down easily. Not like he should be complaining anyway. Since he traveled quite the distance for a simple job, the payment was pretty sweet. The amount he acquired would surely get some bills paid, as well as fill he and Ignius's bellies for a pretty good while. While the mechanical dog didn't eat human food, he could still starve and thirst without the proper dog food (which was mostly consisted of chewable nuts and bolts) and drinkable energy cans for robotic animals. Speaking of which, he was quite hungry now after cutting down some rogues. Ignius probably was too, seeing as the canine companion was huffing and puffing while walking with a slow pace beside him.
Another good advantage of being this far away from home was gazing at the sights. Tokyo was quite the gorgeous city and so much more technological and advanced compared to Abel City. While Abel was larger in size, Tokyo makes it up for it's rather unique style. The citizens were definitely more outgoing to say the least, and some of the areas became quite crowded at times. Earlier after receiving his payment, he lost Ignius in the crowd for a good twenty minutes before the canine jumped on his back from behind! It was also quite frightening too, since people were brushing up against him during the busyness...the people frightening him being female, of course. It was so close quarters and too confined to be able to wiggle his way out of it. Definitely didn't want to make a huge scene either, seeing as his reactions of his gynophobia attracts...unwanted attention. But thankfully, he and his companion was in a more quieter part of the city. He was going to find a fast food joint nearby until hearing gun shots from another distance. Hopefully the situation was being handled accordingly...he knew how authorities didn't like outsiders meddling within their job. Maybe Tokyo was more friendly and accepting towards outside help though? Who knows.
Cutting the corner to where the gun shots were heard, he witnessed someone running towards his general direction...and he was armed. He could spot two others from the general direction of where he was departing, but one of them seemed to be down. Couldn't tell if it was from an injury or not from this distance. However, the current suspect with the gun was definitely heading his way. Was pretty obvious he was the crook at this point, so instead of returning a sprint to him, the ninja 'borg instead kept walking his way like he didn't see a thing.
...But it was all nothing but a hoax. He slid his cybernetic hands into the pockets of his black coat as he continued to casually walk away. When the escapee was beginning to cross him, Magnus allowed his right hand to fall out, clenching it tightly before back-hand punching the man in the center of his face. The man reclined backwards from impact and slid on the sidewalk on his back as Magnus finally halted in his tracks and halfway turned around, looking down on the recovering man from the side. A petty thief, it seemed. Guess that meant he couldn't brandish weaponry just yet...or maybe not. The man quickly whipped his gun out again and pulled the trigger. Magnus kind of anticipated it, allowing a lone kunai fall from underneath his sleeve, gripping it tightly as he leaned to the side in case the bullet didn't bounce off the blade. When the bullet DID collide with the kunai, it flipped out of the cyborg's hand.
The man was going to release another shot until Ignius sneaked up behind, the mechanical canine's bite rushing through the man's leg as he yelped in pain. Taking advantage of that, Magnus sent a straight hook to the side of the man's face again, that punch having a lot more force into it this time, having him fly backwards a bit.
"...I've got until a hunter or police comes for you. Come on." The ninja 'borg spoke with a tone of a little irritation as he shifted his body slightly sideways, practically taunting the man to try again, but not outwardly showing it too well. While he kept one hand remaining in his pocket, he had the other within his shuriken pack.

"This is squad car #2548. We just got a read on your location and we're three blocks away from you." Ada sighed slightly, a little relief coming in. She doubted the man from before getting far by this point. "Do we need any more backup?"
"No. I disarmed him so one should-" Ada was cut off as she heard another gunshot just down the road where the suspect was escaping. Did he have more than one gun? "Forget that! Call for backup! He seems to have been carrying more than one weapon and another shot just rang out!"
"Is there anyone in the line of fire?"
"I can't say. I'm still with the wounded civilian from the first confrontation." This was one thing Ada hated: Not knowing about a situation. She wanted to run down there and see what was going on. Then again, if she chased him in the first place, she could have already arrested him. But the people's safety comes first...
"Copy that!"
Ada turned her attention away from the police and focused on the lady once again. The wound seemed to slow in bleeding, but it was still coming out. By this point, she looked up and saw the woman's face. Behind the flow of tears, she looked to be a few years older than her, reminding the Hunter how young she herself was. Joining the Maverick Hunters, having cybernetic limbs, the changes in her life made her feel much different than what young women like her was supposed to be. "Y-you're..." the woman spoke in a shaky voice. "You're a h-hunter?" Ada nodded, a confident smile gracing her face. "B-but... you look like..."
"A human," she finished for her. In response, she pushed the hair away from her left eye, showing the red glow before letting it fall down again. "I used to be. But I'm not the most important person here at the moment." The woman didn't say much else, mostly trying to control her own sobs from the pain, most likely. Thankfully, sirens for the ambulance came into earshot and people quickly got out of the way so the paramedic reploids could get to the lady. Ada moved aside so they could do their job, nodding to the lady as she gave a grateful smile to her. "This is never easy," Ada mumbled to herself as the lady was loaded onto the vehicle.
"Hunter Adaline, come in!" The voice sounded rather urgent, surprising Ada for a moment.
But she responded. "Adaline here."
"We are in front of two armed men. One a human and the other a cyborg. Are you sure there was only one suspect?" Two armed men? For a second, she started to question her own judgement, but threw that mentality out as soon as it came. She was certain there was only one.
"I'll be down there in a minute. Keep them both at bay until I show up." She wasted no time in dashing over. It didn't take too long until she noticed a few squad cars lined up like a wall with men out and armed, eyes staring down their sights. The chief was there, and was the first one to notice her running up. She slowed, giving a signal to let her through and the chief gave the order as she walked in without any problems. Now... let's see what the situation here was.

Magnus simply stood by and observed the man rising from the punch he delivered earlier, knowing that he was probably going to attempt shooting him again. At least this time, he'd fully see it coming instead of relying on his kunai, which was several paces away on the sidewalk by the nearby wall. Well, he had plenty in his replenishing pack, but it was best to conserve them when he could. It was a pain to replace those things completely as compared to the shurikens. Maybe whenever this guy was handled, he could retrieve it...or pretty soon would be good too. The man raised the pistol in front of him, pulling the trigger again. The mercenary used his speed to his advantage to blur into motion to his right to evade the incoming bullet, as it hit a nearby light-post. Rolling after the dash while grabbing the kunai from the ground, as well as using his ninja abilities to evade the next rounds of gunfire from the man, Magnus leaped upwards and planted his right foot on the wall first before doing the same with the other, then began to sprint on the wall sideways once he gained his balance. The thief being unable to follow him properly was just firing at the wall in hopes of landing a hit.
Knowing he couldn't run on the walls for long anyway, Magnus dived off and tossed the kunai at the gun itself, disarming the man before he could fire another shot. After landing beside Ignius, the dog protected his recovering owner as he growled at the man. Of course, he was trying to retrieve his disarmed weapon instead. Recovering from the landing, Magnus hit a quicker sprint and before the man knew it, he was tackled by the cyborg right before he was going to grab the pistol from the ground. He successfully pinned the man down and delivered an extra deck to the side of his face again. Before he could continue on though...
"FREEZE!"
...Crap. That certainly was startling. Well, he DID hear the sirens a little earlier, but he figured he was too caught up in the fight to actually pay enough attention to the fact that they were already surrounded. The Tokyo authorities had already arrived and had all guns pointed at the both of them. Guess he could understand them directing the order towards him as well. He WAS just some random stranger that came out of nowhere and suddenly thrust himself in the situation. Releasing the man's shirt, Magnus had slowly risen from the ground without even retrieving his kunai again, abiding by the command by raising his arms in the air like they most likely were going to command next. He could see the man from the corner of his eyes though...he was trying to go for his weapon again, but Magnus kicked down with heel of his foot on the back of the man's hand. This caused the person issuing the commands to repeat himself to freeze. Though just in case, Magnus kept his foot on the man's hand until they had to do what they had to do.
They seemed to not immediately step in though. He wondered what the hold up and awkward silence was about until seeing what appeared to be a rather young female officer approaching. "Ahhh, damn it...a woman..." the mercenary panicked a little, though not making any fidgeting movements to still abide by the command, though he had a sweat drop falling to the side of his face. Okay, this shouldn't be bad. Maybe she'll just let him ago? Ah! What about Ignius--oh, he was just sitting down abiding by the rule too when he approached by his side...so much for relying on him for an escape plan. Well, guess there was nothing else left to do but shut up until addressed, the ninja 'borg turning his head slightly to the side to avoid immediate eye contact with the approaching woman.

Getting closer, Ada's eyes shifted to the cyborg. At a distance, he seemed rather normal, given his appearance, but up close she saw the metal on his body. Out of instinct, she rubbed part of her forehead, making sure the reason she could barely see out of her left eye was because of her hair and not because of a glitch she didn't notice before. Thankfully, it was still down, so she didn't have to worry about that. She'll let the male cyborg make his own conclusions. Looking down, she noticed the dog at the cyborg's side, making her smile a little at the sight. It seemed rather comfortable next to the cyborg... Mechanical or not, they truly are man's best friend. But then she got to the thief...
She stopped about three feet away from them, eyeing them all. The cyborg was stepping on the thief's hand, obviously trying to reach for the gun on the ground. Not far from the firearm, there was a kunai. She doubted it was being carried by the thief, so she glanced at the cyborg for a second. Could it be his? Regardless, she walked over and picked up both weapons before looking back at the officers. "Arrest the man on the ground, and make sure he doesn't have anything else on him. I don't want another person injured." The police came in, picking up the man and searching him until they were sure he was clear. She gave on officer the gun, but kept the kunai, making the man look at her with confusion. "I'll handle the other one." He still looked confused, but left regardless.
Turning back around, she smirked as she held out the kunai. "I believe this is yours." A thought just crossed her mind, however. She may have looked fully human, but all it took was a scanner to find out she was more than that. She just hoped he was one that didn't have it installed. She was asked if she wanted it installed in her cybernetic eye, but declined saying she wanted to keep the tech in her body as minimal as possible. The default ID scan most Hunters had was with her armor back at home. Here, she just had her normal clothing on, besides the handles of her blades on her sides, but at least she was licensed to carry those around. "Sorry for you getting caught in the spotlight, but we couldn't take any chances, you know?"

It was quite the sigh of relief that the crook was the only one scooped up and taken away, for the merc didn't feel like being held in custody this time. He could recall a time where in Abel he had to be taken in just because he beat the snot out of a bank robber who just happened to bump into him during his escape. Well, technically he wasn't going to do anything to the man since...quite frankly he didn't know what was going on. But the moment the man threw the first punch, it was on. Buuut...this was no time dwelling on past events. At least it seemed he was in the clear, giving himself another silent sigh to himself. Tokyo really was more friendly to outside help it seemed. Well, Abel's police accepted any help they received with open arms too, but their hunters...yeesh. They'd take you in just for PUNCHING OUT a run away Maverick they failed to catch. Okay, maybe not over something as stupid as that, but the point was still pretty clear.
Before he knew it, he was addressed and witnessed his kunai out in front of him. "Oh, uh...thanks." Honestly forgot about the thing for a second there really. He grabbed hold of it before hearing the apology, placing his finger in the middle of the circular part of the handle before sliding the throwing knife back up his sleeve. "Hey, don't worry abou--"
...HEY WAIT A MINUTE!
His face immediately turned pale as he realized the uneasiness that creeped upon him as he cut his reply short. How could he forget so fast that the woman was extremely close within his freak-out range? He could already tell Ignius made himself a little room for what was about to come. The ninja 'borg found himself taking tiny steps backward, finally failing to keep a straight face as he was obviously terrified of her. Though at this point, it was just time to say screw it and jet away...and he did exactly that. "Gaaaah!!" Out of fearful instinct, he hit a really fast sprint away from her to the point where he planted himself on the wall of the nearby building trembling with absolute terror.
"S-sorry...nothing personal, but uhhh..." Well, he was pretty much lost for words after that. How lame would it sound to just come out and say "I'm afraid of women!"? Of course, he didn't know exactly if that was an obvious fact or not to the girl in front of him. Sometimes when he freaked out like that around other females he encountered, people take it pretty hard or personal...and he didn't like it when that happened. Still frozen solid on the wall, his canine companion released a little whine that sounded like a very disappointed sigh as he slouched out on the sidewalk like it was ready to take a nap. Despite his nature, Ignius was incredibly intelligent. The dog knew about his owner's phobia and has seen his reactions, almost kind of expecting how things would end up as he sat back and relaxed. Sometimes, he'd try to help in situations, but most of time only made things more frightening and embarrassing for Magnus...it's for a good cause, of course.
The mercenary realized some of the police that weren't busy kind of eyeing him on the slick for his sudden behavior. Oh dear...how embarrassing this is. He hates cowering at the sight of females, either adult or child. He held absolutely no disliking to them whatsoever.

The moment the cyborg's face went pale, Ada became a bit worried. She noticed him taking a few small step back, making her lean in a bit. "Hey, are you--" Then he screamed and jetted back to the wall. Now it was her turn to lose some color in her skin as the sudden outburst scared her, making her turn around for a moment, part of her thinking that outburst was from something that was behind her. But the area was clear. Nothing to really be scared of. So she looked back at him, a look of total confusion her the Hunter's face.
She listened to his stumbling apology, though it explained little to nothing about why he just exploded like that. Did he have a scanner and used it? If so, why would he be so paranoid about a cyborg just like him? No, something didn't add up. However, she took a look around and noticed the unwanted attention from the police nearby. This was awkward... likely for them both. Then she heard a little whine, almost as if it was a high-pitched sigh, and looked at the dog on the ground. Okay, now that was just cute.
"Listen," Ada spoke up. "If it's too stressing to be here, do you want to go over to the Park? I'd normally let you go, but I need to ask you some questions before I can do that." During her explanation, she walked over to the dog, kneeling down and going to pet him with a smile on her face. "How about you, Big Guy? You wanna go to the Park?"

Well...this was quite the tough spot to be in right now. Either decline and rudely flee or accept to relieve himself the embarrassment from the unwanted attention. Either choice contained consequences that he didn't want to go through. However, he wondered exactly what questions she required to ask him? Other than curiosity, it seemed important. Probably about the crime scene. While he could understand that, his phobia pretty much prevented any kind of easy and solid answer giving at this point. There had to be some way to wiggle his way out of this situation...and fast. However, he definitely didn't want to turn her down. Okay. This still shouldn't be so bad. There had to be at least ONE alternative he could take. Ah! What about Ignuis again--
"Woof!" The canine had risen from the ground with genuine excitement over the idea of going to the park.
...That little traitor. Well, looks like it was final. Besides, the constant attention was definitely not going to cease on it's own and he'd have a lot of explaining to do later on if he just took off without warning. They might think he was up to something...not to mention he might be still under suspicion. Orrrr he could just be thinking about it too much. "Uhh...y-yeah. That's fine...I guess." He still stumbled with his words, but eased himself off the wall. All right, just chill out and calm down. He could get through this. Seriously, he's been through worse. As much as Emilie haunts and scares him constantly without tire, he should be able to handle a simple walk and a few question answering, right? And...keep a little distance between and he'd be fine.
Approaching, yet slowly and still keeping some space in between, he slipped his hands in the pocket of his coat while looking straight in another direction, obviously trying to cover up his trembling a little more effectively. "...Haven't...been in Tokyo a lot. You can lead the way."

There was a defeated look on his face as the Dog spoke up, following his stumbling words. What was the problem anyway? Ada never met someone who acted like that in her life. Hm... Maybe she could slip that question in later... Regardless, she nodded when given the initiative to lead, motioning them to follow in leaving the area to the shortest route she could think of going to the park.
"Wait, where are you--"
Adaline cut the chief they were passing off. "Don't worry. I'll ask him my questions and send you my report from HQ by tomorrow," she stated in both a formal and casual manner at the same time. "I may still be new, Chief, but I know how to do at least that much."
The man nodded and gave a quick salute. "Very well. Thank you, Miss Micros."
"Anytime." She kept it at that, the way she handled things not something one would expect from someone who did things by the book. But once there was some distance made between them and the lingering police, she addressed the cyborg. "So, what's your names? You don't look like the kind of guy who'd go by 'Sir' all the time. Plus, I'd like to call your partner there something else other than 'Big Guy' all the time." Now she just seemed to drop the whole 'professional' act entirely. Truth was, that's the way she liked to handle things. Try to talk to people on a similar level, regardless of being a Maverick Hunter or not. Of course, not everyone thought the way she did, hence why there were a few Hunters that didn't like her process. "But like you heard, the name's Micros. Adaline Micros, but you can call me Ada."

Thank goodness!
Now that half of the awkwardness had vanished, maybe this won't be so bad after all. When she fully introduced herself and asked for their own names, he was so far doing good on not making any sudden outbursts again and keeping real calm. "Ah...the name's Magnus. My buddy here is called Ignius." His tone was more like his usual now; calm and collected, though a small mix of brood was in there as well. Despite well over a decade had passed since his operation, introducing himself still remained a little odd and uncomfortable. He discarded his birth name as a symbol of his previous life coming to an end and beginning anew as Magnus with the second chance given...however, he still needed to get used to it. The only people that knew his real name were long gone, so it's not like anyone would come out and shout "LIAR!".
Ignoring those thoughts completely now, he spoke up towards her, though just gazing at a different direction. "...I'm no one special though. Just a simple mercenary who's pretty much all over the place." Not like it was worth mentioning his previous occupation nor was it even necessary. The moment he left the hunters, he wanted to put all that behind him to at least make his life a little less stressful. Hold on...why in the heck was he even thinking about this in the first place? He was done introducing himself the moment he gave her he and his companion's names. No need to extended introductions. "But Adaline, huh? All right. That ought to be easy to remember."
Now that his own introductions were finished, guess this was the point where the serious questions he needed to answer was going to follow. He spoke up towards her, though didn't meet her eye-to-eye. "From the looks of things, it doesn't seem like you're apart of this city's police force." It wasn't like him to stick his nose in other people's business though, so he phrased it as a simple comment of his own observations to avoid being rude. The police chief seemed to have addressed her as someone rather high in authority, however she didn't look like anyone apart of the force at all...unless she was an undercover. However, it's merely his natural instinct to figure that stuff out in his head and not broadcasting it out. No one was obligated to tell you who they are, so it was best to make your own assumptions until they tell you themselves.

"Magnus and Ignius, a mercenary and his canine partner. Sounds like something out of a story," she stated, laughing a little. She read a few novels with such a setup, and watched a few movies about that too. Never heard of it in real life that much, however. Still, the idea of having a loyal companion by your side even in the most dangerous of situations was pretty cool in Ada's mind. Wish she had someone like that...
She almost missed Magnus' later comment, something she was personally proud to state. "No, I'm not an officer, though I've been working with them a lot lately. I'm actually a Maverick Hunter, C class." She pulled out her idea, showing if off in a nonchalant manner for a second before putting it back. "I want to get up there in the higher classes. You know, to see if I could make any more of a difference with the Mavericks looming around. I heard since X and Axl are unable to serve, things have been pretty tough. So, I wanna help out as much as I can." Did she say too much? Probably, but she didn't really mind. After all, it's not like she was revealing confidential information to the public. Just stating her dreams and aspirations to someone... even if they were a little far-fetched.
On another turn, the park was a simple straight-shot as it came into view, though they still had a bit of a walk. Might as well start with the actual questioning. "Speaking of helping out, I remember seeing the guy we were chasing looking pretty beat-up. More so than I would have been able to do, anyway. Am I right to assume you stepped in, Magnus?" Her gut said that it would be plainly obvious, given how she found the two guys with Magnus near-crushing the thief's hand under his heel. But her brain needed the confirmation to make it fact. Plus, she needed to be honest in her report that she asked all the needed questions. A chore? Yeah, but someone needed to do it.

"Heeeey...we make it work though!" He playfully replied towards her comment on he and Ignius's setup. Though once he thought about it, the team of man and dog really does have a certain story-like theme to it. He could recall reading such stories during his peace times in the orphanage, not once stopping and thinking back on those same books to make a comparison between the stories and he and Ignius. The simple mention of it managed to bring back what little nostalgic times he possessed over the more unpleasant memories he could recall about that place.
However, he was a little surprised to hear she was a hunter. Well, while he didn't exactly agree with the organization's manner of handling situations anymore like he used to, he doesn't hold prejudice towards the actual hunters in service. Unless a hunter he may encounter was a straight up jerk that lacked manners...and a brain. He runs into a lot of those. However, the young lady here didn't fit with any of those characteristics. In fact, she possessed qualities opposite of those he didn't like, which was a VERY good thing. "...I see. Not a bad dream. Not bad at all..." While he still was clearly not looking at her, he allowed a small smile pierce his features. "I think this world could benefit from more idealistic hunters with similar dreams like yours. Just keep the dreams flowing and you'll meet your goal eventually..." Something I've clearly failed to do myself..." He frowned immediately after speaking. Yeah, he had dreams of his own when knowing he could join the organization over a decade back. However, he couldn't help but worry about Ada a little there. Somewhere along the road, she may have to deal with the same situation he had to face that convinced him that being a hunter was not his preferred path to helping those who can't protect themselves.
Goodness, he could already image the scene again...that poor helper 'roid. He was only protecting his master...and for what? Only to be deemed Maverick for acting on his duty of protecting his human master from another human being...and who do you think was the one forced to retire him? The same mercenary clad in black that walks right now was the "heartless hunter" that caused his uncalled for demise. It was a hunter's job to carry out the assignments given to them without defiance...no matter who the reploid suspected of being Maverick was, nor was the status deeming justifiable or not. Could even be your best friend due to a simple misunderstanding. Despite that, you had to swallow your pride and feelings to retire as instructed. He couldn't serve an organization that so brashly judges a reploid with such haste. Many innocent reploids have died because of misunderstandings...and that thought alone makes the fires of anger burn fiercely in the ninja 'borg's soul. While he resigned, he didn't regret it. Being a hunter was just not his way of handling peace, so there had to be another way to protect the world from the real threats. However, he could tell Ada was serious about her goals just by the tone of her voice. He just hoped the weight of a hunter's job didn't crush her entirely on her journey.
But enough of glum and depressing thoughts. He had a question to answer, seeing the park coming into view now. "Oh...um, yeah. He was heading my way and I just happened to realize he was up to no good from seeing you and that injured woman from a distance." He rubbed the back of his head, being as honest as he could. Really, he had no reason to lie or anything. "...It's just a forced habit of mine to help out if I have the power to carry it out. Could also be leftover habits from being a hunter like you are too..." He sighed a bit on that part. He didn't really like mentioning this, especially in front of a hunter. But he's being questioned, so it was time to let out with it, having another serious frown occupy his expression. "I know how strict the organization's policy is on vigilantism or anything similar first-hand, but I'm not going to sit by and watch stuff like this happen right in front of me. I'd rather die than wait for the authorities to show up while some insane bastard's harming people and can be stopped right there and now."
He noticed his tone had changed significantly more earnest, also feeling his hands clenched within his pockets. But he took a deep breath and exhaled, calming himself and maintaining his usual demeanor. "But other than that, sorry for involving myself in the situation."

Ada laughed at the response from her first comment, keeping the smile as she was complimented on her ideals. "Thanks, I plan to," was her response. She told a couple of others before, both giving iffy responses. It was clear they thought something along the lines of 'she's still a rookie'. She really didn't like that, but what could she do? Not everyone thought alike, after all. But to actually hear someone encourage her felt so much better.
She then listened to his explanation on what happened on the street, picking up the bit of him being a former hunter. "I'll save that question for later..." However, she kept listening, hearing every detail down to the tone of voice. He really meant what he was saying, hearing the emotion behind those words. She liked it. She liked it a lot. "Don't worry about it," she stated regarding his apology. "For all we know, by the time the authorities got there, the guy could have turned a corner and found a hiding place had you not shown up. On top of that, you made apprehending him a heck of a lot easier then it could have been with the guy being armed. I could have done it myself, but..." Her mind went back to the lady on the street. She was trying to prevent anyone from getting hurt, but still, it happened. Adaline made a mental note to go see the woman in the hospital the first chance she got.
Looking back ahead, the park became a lot closer than she originally expected. By this point? They were already at the gate. "Oh, we're here." She didn't stop walking though. After all, she didn't say she was done with her questioning. Especially since she had one question sticking out at the moment. "By the way, you haven't looked me straight in the eye ever since we met. I mean, I'm not that ugly, am I?" The last part was a joke, yes, but she hoped it was something to get the answer out. It felt weird talking to someone that wouldn't really look at them. If she had to, she'll pull out the card to make Magnus look... Or more literally, push it back.

"Heh, I see. Well, you can thank Ignius too. I've probably would have been shot a couple of moments there if he wasn't backing me up." The mercenary's companion immediately barked with a little bit of excitement. Ignius usually never helps in a serious heated battle, since he lacks battle prowess and is more of a support-type partner. But if he was near, he's certainly VERY dependable. While he's not a combat machine, the bite of a canine is always a force to be reckoned with. "But I'm just glad I could be of some use when needed. It's quite difficult to interfere when there's a chance you'd get thrown behind bars just for wanting to lend a hand...not like that matters to me at this point. I've got taken into custody plenty of times that's it's not even funny..." He released a rather disappointed sigh. At least this time, he was grateful that Ada was one of the appreciative hunters who didn't mind outside assistance, unlike others who want to throw him in a cell for a whole night.
So then the park was in clear view, as they approached the gate. It appeared to be quite the well-taken care of spot so far, despite not even setting foot into the place yet. Reminds him of his regularly visits to their own local park in Abel to give Ignius, as well as himself, some good relaxation and exercise when they can afford a nice break. He was actually going to outwardly comment on the park's impressive condition, but first Ada spoke once more with another question...though it was quite the unexpected one. He should have seen it coming though.
"Wh-what?! Of course you're not!" Well, this couldn't possibly become any more awkward, right? But at least he was giving direct eye contact this time. "It's...nothing personal against you, I swear. Call it pathetic if you will, but I'm...quite frankly afraid of women. I-I'm not exactly sure why I'm like this..." He honestly couldn't tell if she was joking about the last part or not since he's too frightened to even mention a direct reply to it. Of course she wasn't ugly. Nowhere near it actually. Though anymore added onto the response would just make things even more scary than it was now. He really wanted to punch himself in the gut right now. Maybe the pain in his stomach could distract him plenty? Yeah! Punching himself was a brilliant idea--nah...never mind. That'd just result in even more awkwardness.

"Right, of course! I'm sure you were a big help, Ignius. Thanks a lot!"
How could she forget about the loyal partner? He was probably the one who kept things in their favor, even. Ada just met the canine, but he seemed to be rather intelligent by the way he acted. Still, she kept an open ear to Magnus as he kept talking. Sure, Ada understood the strict policies about vigilantes, but in her mind they were only doing what they thought was right. Most of the time, their interests coincided with the Hunters, even if there were times when their methods were rather radical or extreme. Heck, if Ada wasn't admitted as a Hunter, she may as well have taken that road herself. She can't just sit around and do nothing.
Then came the reaction to her question. Well... It was more of a reaction than she was expecting. Still, a fear of women? She heard of a few cases regarding gynophobia, but they were normally rare. When down to the root of the problem, it was normally the result of extreme situations. Was that the case here? Regardless, Ada thought it best to talk normally. In fact, maybe one thing could ease him a bit.
"Well, I don't normally consider myself scary. I mean..." Her hand near-casually pushed back her hair, finally showing her near-glowing red eye. "We're not exactly all that different."
Her eye was always a dead give-away. In fact, Ada still remembered when she first came back after getting her new limbs. She really wanted to return to her normal life, but when her friends saw her... their reactions were all different. Some were surprised, others were worried, and a few were... disgusted. A lot of them left her, and only a few stayed. A couple even started to make fun of her, calling her a freak. Was the situation taken care of? Yes, but the insecurity lingered. So much so that it led to her getting her 'fake skin' on her arms and legs, it doing what it was intended to do, a near-perfect substitute for human skin, but she can't cover her eye.
After all, the eyes are the gateway to the soul, right?
